Research Opportunity: Have Your Say on the Future of Health and Care Services

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is looking for people with lived experience of using health and care services to take part in a workshop that will help shape the future of local services across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

🕐 1:00pm - 4:00pm
📍 Room 1, Education Centre, St George's Hospital

This interactive workshop will explore what matters most to local people and communities, including:
✅ What good joined-up care looks like
✅ How services can better support people, families and carers
✅ What is important when planning services locally
✅ How health and care professionals can work together more effectively

No specialist knowledge or preparation is needed. Your personal experiences and views are what matter most.

The feedback gathered will help inform the future design of community, mental health and social care services across the area.

Last week, we celebrated with a Macmillan Coffee Morning here at Keele CTU! 💚

Thanks to everyone who joined us, brought along some delicious baked treats, enjoyed a cuppa and helped us raise over £35 for Macmillan Cancer Support. 🎂☕️

Every cake, coffee and donation helped make a difference. A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make the morning such a lovely success! 💜

🌍 Celebrating World Pharmacist Day!

Last week, on 25 September, we celebrated World Pharmacist Day — a chance to recognise the vital role pharmacists play in supporting people’s health and wellbeing across our communities.

We’re proud to highlight the PROMPPT study, which explored pharmacy‑led pain reviews and the impact pharmacists can have in helping people manage long‑term pain more effectively. This work shines a light on how pharmacists can support personalised care, improve communication, and make a real difference to patients’ daily lives.

Members of Keele CTU have pledged to buy only pre-loved clothes this month, helping to reduce waste, cut emissions and support charities. 👕♻️
We’re also looking at ways to reduce waste in our clinical trials by reusing equipment from completed studies wherever possible.
Sustainability isn’t just for our wardrobes, it’s part of how we work too. 💚
