We’re a couple of days early for World Menopause Day, but this is something I think deserves more than just one day of conversation. 🤍
Because can we talk about how much women are expected to just get on with?
The hot flushes. The broken sleep. The mood changes. The brain fog. The anxiety. The exhaustion.
And then there’s looking in the mirror and noticing that your skin doesn’t seem to behave the way it used to.
Maybe it’s suddenly drier. Maybe you’ve noticed more lines, a change in firmness or pigmentation that wasn’t there before.
And you’re standing there thinking, what on earth is happening to me?
The truth is, hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect our skin in ways we might never have been prepared for.
And while every woman’s experience is different, one thing I really believe is that we shouldn’t have to feel embarrassed about any of it.
As women, so many of us will go through this transition at some point in our lives.
Some will barely notice it. Others will find it affects their confidence, relationships, sleep, mental health and everyday life.
Neither experience is more valid than the other.
At KM Skin, I want women to feel comfortable talking about these changes without feeling judged, dismissed or pressured to do anything about their appearance.
You don’t have to love every change that comes with getting older. But you absolutely deserve to feel supported through them.
And sometimes, just knowing another woman understands makes all the difference. 🤍
So, ahead of World Menopause Day on Sunday, here’s a reminder:
You’re not the only one going through it. And you don’t have to pretend it’s all fine when it isn’t.
Sending a little extra love to every woman navigating this stage of life.
Kara 🤍
