Epilepsy Action and Young Epilepsy have partnered with Shout 💜

We know that living with epilepsy can sometimes feel overwhelming, and looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.

That’s why we’re pleased to share that you can now access free, confidential mental health support from Shout by texting PURPLE to 85258.

📱 Text PURPLE to 85258 to start a conversation with a trained Shout volunteer.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or simply need someone to talk to, support is available — 24/7, for free, from anywhere in the UK.

You don’t have to face things alone. 💜

We are really pleased to see the government’s announcement expanding the Jobs Guarantee scheme to fast-track young disabled people and those with long-term health conditions into paid work.

With the number of young disabled people out of work doubling over the last decade, earlier access to paid opportunities, tailored mentoring, and practical support can be life-changing.

Getting young people through the door, however is only the first step. For these roles to create lasting change, workplaces must be genuinely accessible, backed by essential schemes like Access to Work and focused on long-term career progression rather than short-term targets.

Real inclusion is about building meaningful careers and giving young disabled people the confidence to show what they can do. We look forward to supporting local employers across Yorkshire to ensure these opportunities lead to truly inclusive, supportive working environments.

"The Pulse Oximeter Machine has helped each and every time Marley has had a life-threatening seizure. Although he isn't a fan of the alarm when he wakes up, for us as parents we just love the feeling of security. Even on the good days, we know it's there for us. I couldn't begin to tell you what a life-saver it's been. Thank you so much." Rosie, Mum to Marley who is living with Dravet Syndrome.

Providing peace of mind to parents and carers is made possible through the incredible support of funders Vinehill Trust, The Saturday Hospital Club and The Hedley Foundation, who have all made contributions towards our Seizure Monitor Fund over the past year. We also want to thank everyone who kindly made a donation, helping to fund Seizure Monitors, in the Big Give, Global’s Make Some Noise and NCVO’s match-funding campaign during Small Charity Week in June. Thanks to the wonderful Postcode Lottery players, your donations were doubled through funding awarded by Postcode Places Trust, resulting in a £10,230 funding boost.

Thank you so much for enabling us to provide these essential pieces of equipment to worried and exhausted families. We couldn't do what we do without you.
