Two of your best employees can’t stand each other. What do you do? 🤔
It’s a difficult position for any leader.
Both employees are talented. Both contribute to the business. But their inability to work together is starting to affect everyone around them.
And here’s where leadership really matters.
Your job isn’t to make them like each other.
It’s to understand what’s happening, identify what’s driving the conflict and help them recognise what they’re collectively trying to achieve.
Because sometimes the issue isn’t a lack of talent.
It’s a lack of understanding, clarity or willingness to work towards a shared objective.
And while we can’t expect everyone to agree on everything, we can expect professionalism, mutual respect and accountability.
You don’t have to like someone to respect them. And you don’t have to agree on everything to work effectively together 🤝
This is the kind of real-world challenge I help business owners and senior leaders navigate through leadership coaching.
If you’re leading a team and dealing with a situation like this, send me a message 💬
I’d also be interested to hear from other leaders: how would you handle two talented employees who simply cannot work together?
