Having a good idea is one thing. Getting people behind it, building it, and making it work in the real world is another.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve attended events in Romania covering leadership, AI and digital innovation. Each gave me something different to think about as I continue building in health tech.
At Women in Tech Cluj, I was reminded that a good idea alone isn’t always enough. Finding allies, communicating clearly and learning how to navigate important decisions can make a real difference.
At Wolfpack Digital, the discussion focused on what happens after AI helps you build something in a weekend. A prototype is just the beginning. You still need technical expertise, feedback from real users and a willingness to keep testing and improving what you’ve built.
As someone building in health tech alongside a technical co-founder, this really resonated with me. AI can speed things up, but knowing what to build and whether it genuinely solves a problem takes much more than generating code.
At the The European Digital Innovation Hub in Transilvania, I was reminded of the incredible talent we have in Romania and the opportunities ahead as digital transformation continues to develop.
After eight years in health, including more than six in health tech across the UK, Canada and the Nordic region, I’ve seen how much can happen when people with different skills and perspectives come together around a shared problem.
It’s been wonderful reconnecting with old friends, meeting new people and seeing the energy growing across Romania’s innovation ecosystem.
Now, back to work, with plenty to think about and even more to build 🚀
