💚 World Mental Health Day 2026 💚

On Saturday 10th October, we’ll be recognising - a day that reminds us of the importance of looking after our mental health, supporting one another and making sure every voice is heard.

This year’s theme is:

🗣️ “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.”

At ASD Support, we believe that listening really matters. Everyone’s experiences are different, and the people we support should be at the heart of the conversations and decisions that affect their lives.

Mental health is something we all have, and sometimes a simple conversation, a listening ear or knowing that someone is there can make a real difference. 💚

Let’s continue to create a culture where people feel heard, valued, understood and supported. 🌱

💬 “Your voice matters. Your experience matters. You matter.”

✨ A new chapter for regulation? We’re interested to see where this goes.

CQC has shared a new update on its plans to rebuild its regulatory approach and digital services - and there’s quite a bit in there for providers to take note of.

The focus is on making regulation more effective, consistent and responsive, including:

💻 A rebuilt provider portal and digital services
📋 New sector-specific assessment frameworks
📊 Better use of regulatory data
🔄 More efficient assessment and registration processes
🤖 Exploring how AI could help reduce delays and improve consistency

CQC has also confirmed that more than 9,646 assessments have now been completed across all sectors, ahead of its September target of 9,000. 👏

For us as at ASD Support, we’re particularly interested in the move towards more sector-specific approaches and the opportunity for providers to have a greater say in shaping what comes next.

Good regulation matters. But so does making sure the process is clear, consistent and genuinely reflects the quality of care and support being delivered every day. ❤️

We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on how this develops - and we’re looking forward to seeing what the new approach means for supported living providers.

What do other providers think? Is this the change the sector has been waiting for, or is there still a long way to go? 👀

💙 PLEASE TAKE YOUR BREAKS 💙

Looking after others starts with looking after yourself.

Regular breaks and adequate rest help reduce fatigue, improve concentration, support your wellbeing, and ensure we continue delivering safe, high-quality support to the people we serve.

As support workers, you're entitled to rest breaks and rest periods under the Working Time Regulations. Please make sure you take your scheduled breaks wherever possible and speak to your manager if service demands prevent this.

A well-rested team is a safer, healthier, and happier team. 💚
