Shetland Somatic Arts is excited to introduce our new standard initial piercing range from Khrysos Body Jewelry!

As a studio, our core mission has always been a person-centred approach, meaning we are constantly listening to the evolving standards of our industry to bring the absolute best to Lerwick.

To give our clients the ultimate peace of mind, we have made the decision to transition our house basics to Khrysos. This allows us to offer standard initial pieces that carry official, independent verification and approval from the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).
Our commitment to your safety and care remains exactly the same, we’ve just upgraded our foundations.

What does this mean for your new piercing:
• Verified Implant-Grade Purity: Made from genuine ASTM F-136 titanium, the exact same biocompatible material used in medical implants. It is 100% nickel-free and hypoallergenic.
• Mirror-Polish Finish: Every post and barbell is polished to a flawless finish. A smoother surface means less friction and a vastly happier healing process for your body.
• Secure & Comfortable: High-precision threading designed to sit comfortably against your unique anatomy.

A safe piercing starts with the exceptional foundations.

Next time you book in for a new piercing, it will be styled with an APP approved brand - Khrysos
Jewelry can also be custom ordered to bring a personal vision to life whether it’s a project, or a statement piece we can source pieces in
Niobium - perfect for hypersensitive skin
Solid Gold - timeless nickel-free luxury
ASTM-F136 Implant Grade Titanium - various attachment, lengths and shapes tailored to your anatomy

As we head into cold and flu season, it is easy to treat our bodies like machines and push through the exhaustion just to keep an appointment. But body art is a deep physical collaboration, not something to grit your teeth and endure.

True self-trust means knowing your body well enough to slow the pace when your inner systems are taxed.

Swipe through to see how timing your sessions with your menstrual cycle (the week right after your period ends) and your immune system (waiting a full 14 days after an illness or vaccine) protects your central nervous system.
You live in your body every day, listen, feel and begin a true journey of honouring your natural rhythms.
