🧬 EPICATECHIN | INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN

Epicatechin is a naturally occurring compound found in foods such as cocoa and green tea, and it's attracted attention for its potential effects on myostatin, follistatin and blood flow.

Early research is interesting, particularly around muscle growth regulation and synergy with other ingredients within that category.

It's also one of the ingredients found in Ghost Size, a formula that's evolved quite considerably over the last few years.

What started primarily as a creatine based muscle building supplement has gradually developed into something that also places greater emphasis on blood flow and muscle pumps.

The removal of beta alanine and inclusion of 400mg of PeakATP® is another interesting change, shifting the formula towards a different set of potential benefits.

In this video, we take a closer look at epicatechin, what it actually does, and why it's worth understanding.

Ghost Size is also currently available in our reduced to clear bundles at T-Nutrition.

These products are short dated or past dates. Available only in T-Nutrition Liverpool.

One of the questions I get asked most is why I chose to go down the private TRT route instead of waiting for treatment through the NHS.

The diplomatic way for me to answer that is as follows:

They have different priorities, different limitations and different ways of approaching treatment.

This video is simply my own perspective after spending the last 2½ years on TRT, along with what I've learned along the way.

As always, I'm not here to tell anyone what they should do. My aim is simply to explain why I made the decisions I did.

If you've got your own experience with NHS or private TRT, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

One of the biggest things that stopped me looking into TRT wasn't the blood tests or the research, it was the injections.

If that sounds familiar, you're definitely not alone.

For me, switching to Sub-Q injections completely changed that. Most of the time I barely feel the injection at all.

That doesn't mean Sub-Q is the right choice for everyone. Both IM and Sub-Q can work very well, and it's something you should discuss with your doctor.

This video is simply my own experience after 2½ years on TRT, in the hope that it helps someone who's currently feeling the same way I did.

Have you got a question about TRT?

Leave it in the comments and I'll cover it in a future post 💪😎👍

I hope this helps 🙂 Mark

I've mentioned my own TRT journey a few times over the last couple of years, but I've never actually done this kind of Q&A post about it.

That's what this post will be for.

Whether you're wondering about symptoms, blood tests, injections, side effects, what it's actually like living on TRT, or anything else, leave your question in the comments and I'll answer as many as I can in future posts.

A few important points to mention:

T-Nutrition does not provide TRT.

I'm not promoting any particular clinic.

Everything I share is based on my own experience over the last 2½ years.

If you want to know which clinic I personally use, I'm happy to tell you privately if you send me a message.

No question is too basic, and If you're wondering about something, there's a good chance plenty of other people are too.

🧪 Ingredient Spotlight: Saccharomyces boulardii

Having just got back from Egypt, I thought this would be a good one to cover.

If there's one supplement I recommend people look into before travelling abroad, especially somewhere with a higher risk of stomach bugs, it's Saccharomyces boulardii.

Unlike most probiotics, this isn't actually a bacteria. It's a beneficial probiotic yeast, which means antibiotics don't destroy it, and it's incredibly resilient as it passes through the digestive tract.

🔑 Why do people use it?

• Helps reduce the risk of traveller's diarrhoea
• Helps restore the gut after antibiotics
• Supports the intestinal barrier
• Helps crowd out unwanted microbes
• Well researched for acute diarrhoea

⚙️ How does it work?

Rather than permanently colonising your gut, S. boulardii works while it's passing through.

It helps:

• Produce compounds that inhibit certain harmful bacteria.
• Reduce bacterial toxins.
• Support secretory IgA and other immune defences in the gut.
• Strengthen the intestinal lining.
• Encourage a healthier gut environment.

📏 Typical Dose

Most studies use:

5-10 billion CFU daily

Many people start taking it 3-5 days before travelling, continue throughout the trip, and for several days afterwards.

✈️ It's still not a magic shield!

Even if you take S. boulardii, the basics still matter:

✔ Wash your hands regularly.
✔ Drink bottled or properly treated water.
✔ Be cautious with ice.
✔ Be mindful of salads or fruit that may have been washed in local tap water.
✔ Choose freshly cooked food where possible.

No supplement replaces sensible hygiene, but this is one of the best researched additions to your travel stack that's available.

I hope this helps 🙂 Mark

🔥 INTRA-WORKOUT = MORE THAN JUST WATER 🔥

Training hard? Your intra-workout can play a much bigger role than simply keeping you hydrated.

Gaspari SizeOn combines:

⚡️ Carbohydrates — training fuel & energy
💪 Hydrolysed whey + EAAs — amino acids to support muscle protein synthesis
🏋️ 5g creatine — strength, power & performance
💧 Electrolytes + taurine — hydration & training support

All in one intra-workout formula.

For longer, higher-volume or particularly demanding sessions, having carbs, amino acids, creatine and electrolytes around your training can be a practical way of supporting performance and recovery.

🧪 Ingredient Spotlight: Butea Superba

Source: The root of Butea superba, a traditional Thai botanical used for centuries to support male vitality, libido and sexual performance.

🔑 Key Benefits

• Supports libido and sexual wellbeing
• May improve erectile function
• May support nitric oxide production
• Traditional male vitality herb
• Emerging clinical evidence for sexual health

🧬 What Is Butea Superba?

Butea superba is a climbing plant native to Thailand and neighbouring regions. Traditionally known as Red Kwao Krua, it's primarily used to support male sexual health and vitality.

Unlike many "testosterone boosters," research has focused mainly on its effects on erectile function and libido, rather than hormone production.

⚙️ How It Works

Current evidence suggests Butea superba may work through several mechanisms:

• May enhance nitric oxide signalling, supporting healthy blood flow.
• May improve vascular function involved in erections.
• Animal research suggests possible androgen-related activity.
• Possesses antioxidant compounds that may support reproductive tissues.

Although one well known case report described elevated DHT after supplementation, human studies have not consistently shown meaningful increases in testosterone or DHT.

📏 Optimal Dosage

Human studies have typically used: 100-500mg daily, but standardisation varies between extracts.

⚠️ Things To Consider

Butea superba appears generally well tolerated in healthy adults. However, because it may influence androgen related pathways, men with hormone sensitive medical conditions should seek medical advice before use.

Evidence for erectile function is stronger than evidence for testosterone enhancement.

🧠 Practical Takeaway

Think of Butea superba as a male sexual performance ingredient, not a testosterone booster. Its greatest potential lies in supporting blood flow, libido and erectile function, while any direct hormonal effects remain uncertain.

£29.99 / 800g - 24 servings
£47.99 / 1.8kg - 54 servings

If you’ve ever wondered what actually separates Per4m’s Protein, Whey, and Isolate lines, here’s the honest breakdown, straight from us:

🟠 Per4m Advanced Protein Blend 1.8kg - 54 Servings/Scoops - blend of Whey Protein Concentrate (80%), Whey Protein Isolate (90%), Milk Protein Concentrate, Egg Protein, & Micellar Casein. Best value, 20g protein/scoop - £47.99

⚪ Per4m Whey 2kg - 67 Servings/Scoops - Whey Protein Concentrate (80%), Whey Protein Isolate (90%) and Milk Protein Concentrate. 22g protein/scoop - £56.99 - this is going to £59.99 on Wednesday, (as always complete clarity from ourselves) due to the 1.8kg / 60 Serving tub being introduced moving forwards by Per4m in place of the 2kg tub which will be priced at £56.99

🔵 Per4m Isolate 2kg - 66 Servings/Scoops - Whey Protein Isolate (90%) Highest quality, but also highest cost of course. 26g protein/scoop - £69.99 - this is going to £71.99 on Wednesday. Again, As always, complete clarity from us.

All three taste excellent — which one’s right for you comes down to budget and how “clean” you want the protein source, not taste. All taste unreal. Pick your tier, pick your flavour.

These are three, relatively well known products.

Three different brands.

But, three very similar formulas.

Before anyone misunderstands the point of this post… These are all good pre workouts.

The ingredients are well chosen, the doses are solid, and I'd happily recommend something like this to a lot of people.

But here's something I've noticed over the last couple of years.

A good pre workout doesn't have to reinvent the wheel, but if ten companies all build almost exactly the same formula, then claiming yours is revolutionary becomes a difficult argument to make.

Once you get into the habit of reading labels instead of falling for marketing, you start seeing the same blueprint over and over again.

High dose citrulline.
Beta alanine.
Betaine.
Tyrosine.
CDP Choline.
Caffeine.
L-Theanine.

From there, one brand might add Pink Himalayan salt, another might use Huperzine A, another might include a trademarked ingredient... but the foundation is often remarkably similar.

That doesn't make them bad products, It simply means they're all solving the same problem in much the same way.

Sometimes the biggest difference between two pre workouts isn't what's inside the tub, It's the branding on the outside.
