Talk: This Is Why Jewellery Length Matters 🪡
Story time.
Had a young lad pop in awhile back asking about a double lower lip. We chatted, gave advice, sent him off with a flyer to book when ready.
Fast forward — he walks in last week on a fully booked day. No appointment, face swollen, jewellery embedding, in real pain. He couldn’t wait for me to do it and he went somewhere else to get the piercings done. The bars used were too short for fresh swelling with his anatomy. He went back to the piercer for help and was turned away. He had no money till payday, but he couldn’t wait any longer🤪
I couldn’t leave him like that could I. So I sorted him out with longer jewellery, a clean-up, aftercare soap + mouthwash. £15 each piercing, pay me, when you get paid friday, he says "first thing" and I say "chill I'm open till 6pm". The relief on his face said it all.
Well I didnt see him on friday, and I hope he’s okay. I wouldnt mind giving him another checkup. I do this for people often and I’ve never been let down before. Sometimes communication gets messy. Im hoping he pops in Monday.
Fresh piercings SWELL. If your bar is too short, it will embed. If your piercer won’t help you after, find a new one. Swelling needs space. Aftercare matters. And your piercer should have your back.
This is why I say: an empty waiting room isn’t always a good thing for you.
Please don’t choose a piercer based on who’s free right now. Choose based on who’ll still care next week.
