Sometimes there isn’t an answer. But every child needs to know it’s not their fault, they don’t have to be brave every day, and they’re never alone.

After months of hard work, my new book, Type 1 Diabetes at School, is finally here!

Having lived with type 1 diabetes for over 40 years, I’ve seen firsthand how much difference the right understanding and support can make.

🏆 WE DID IT! NUMBER 1 ON AMAZON! 💙

I honestly don’t know what to say!

Just a couple of days after launching, my new book, Type 1 Diabetes at School, has reached NUMBER 1 in TWO Amazon UK bestseller categories!

When I started Team Diabuddies, I never imagined I’d be sitting here writing something like this.

I’m just an ordinary bloke who’s lived with type 1 diabetes for around 40 years, working full-time, raising a family and trying to build something that might make a difference to other people’s lives.

There have been plenty of late nights, frustrations, doubts and moments when I’ve questioned whether any of this is actually going anywhere.

And then something like this happens.

But here’s the thing…

Being number 1 on Amazon isn’t my ultimate goal.

My goal is to see this book in schools, in classrooms, in staffrooms and in the hands of the people responsible for looking after children living with type 1 diabetes.

Because no child should ever feel unsafe, misunderstood or left out because of their condition.

And no teacher should feel unprepared when supporting them.

To everyone who’s bought a copy, shared a post, left a kind comment or simply believed in what I’m trying to do…

This is our achievement, not just mine.

Now comes the important part. Getting this book into the right hands.

📚 IT’S FINALLY HERE! MY NEW BOOK!

After months of hard work, late nights, plenty of frustration and probably more cups of tea than I can count, I can finally hold my new book in my hands!

TYPE 1 DIABETES AT SCHOOL 💙

Having lived with type 1 diabetes for around 40 years, I know just how important it is to have people around you who understand the condition.

And for children, nowhere is that more important than at school.

That’s why I’ve created this practical reference guide for teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents and carers.

It covers everything from hypos, insulin and diabetes technology to school trips, PE lessons, emergencies and so much more.

My dream is to get a copy into every school in the UK. 🇬🇧

Will that be easy? Absolutely not.

Am I going to give it a go? You bet I am!

This is about more than selling a book. It’s about making sure children with type 1 diabetes are safe, included and understood.

And hopefully making life a little easier for the teachers and families supporting them.

I’m genuinely proud of this one. It’s another big step for Team Diabuddies.

My pancreas stopped working nearly 40 years ago. Since then, I’ve had to do its job myself. Every single day. Every meal, every decision, every night.

No breaks. No days off. No switching off.

That’s the invisible burden of type 1 diabetes.

People see the insulin. They don’t see the mental workload.
