๐ Changing weather, gentler movementโฆ and a whole lot of gratitude. ๐
This week marked a little milestone in my own health journey.
After 4 months away following surgery, I finally returned to my Pilates classes! ๐
๏ฟผ๐And Iโm not going to pretend itโs been easy.
Recovery has been challenging, both physically and mentally. There have been moments of frustration, days when Iโve missed what my body used to be able to do, and times when progress has felt painfully slow.
๐But getting back onto that mat reminded me of something really importantโฆ
๐Movement is a privilege, not something we should take for granted.
๐Iโm not where I was before surgery, and thatโs OK.
Right now, itโs not about keeping up, pushing harder or getting back to where I was as quickly as possible.
Itโs about rebuilding strength, restoring confidence and appreciating every little bit of progress along the way.
And as the colder months creep in, bringing with them those familiar aches and stiff joints, itโs another reminder of just how important gentle, regular movement can be.
๐ฟ Something my own journey continues to teach me is that wellbeing isnโt always about moving forward at full speed.
๐ขSometimes itโs about slowing down, adapting and meeting your body exactly where it is today.
So hereโs my little encouragement to youโฆ
Whether youโre recovering from illness, managing a chronic condition, or simply finding it harder to get moving as the seasons changeโฆ
โจ Start where you are.
โจ Celebrate the small wins.
โจ Be patient with yourself.
โจ And never underestimate the power of gentle movement.
Today, Iโm simply grateful to be moving again. ๐ฅฐ
๐ฌ Have you ever had to rebuild your strength or confidence after a health setback? Iโd love to hear what helped you along the way.
