🎪 CSP Annual National Conference 2026 | Glasgow
Back from Glasgow feeling inspired and excited to keep growing in performing arts physiotherapy! 💛
I had the opportunity to join Gen Tawiah and Rachel Hendrie on a panel discussing the occupational demands of pre-professional circus artists and what it’s really like working as a physiotherapist for performers.
I also attended insightful sessions on musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, sports injury rehabilitation, hip and knee osteoarthritis, bone stress injuries, hip impingement and shoulder dislocation management.
A few highlights:
🦵 Melanie Holden — Hip and knee osteoarthritis
⚡ Frances Keane — Bone stress injuries and rehabilitation
🦴 Simon Wood — Hip impingement (FAI)
💪 Anju Jaggi and Prof Rebecca Kearney], chaired by Dr Kelly Walker — Shoulder dislocation management
Another highlight was meeting Stewart Kerrand Dave Baker, who may have inspired my next learning adventure: ultrasound! 👀
After four or five years working in circus physiotherapy and performing arts medicine, I’m reminded of how much I’ve learned from the performers I work with — and how much more there is to discover.
I’m leaving Glasgow with fresh perspectives and renewed motivation to keep improving how I support dancers, circus artists and performers through injury rehabilitation, recovery and return to performance. 💛
Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep supporting performers.
