Stronger Together – Advancing Veterinary Orthopaedics

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between LimesVet and Veterinary Orthopaedics, bringing LimesVet’s patient-specific 3D solutions closer to veterinary surgeons across the United Kingdom.

As our UK distributor, Veterinary Orthopaedics brings more than 20 years of experience in veterinary orthopaedics, an established presence in the UK market and dedicated professional support for veterinary surgeons.

LimesVet brings its expertise in CT-based surgical planning, patient-specific surgical guides and 3D-printed implants, providing solutions tailored to the anatomy and clinical requirements of each individual patient.

By combining these strengths, the partnership will make LimesVet’s patient-specific solutions more accessible to veterinary professionals across the UK, supported by Veterinary Orthopaedics’ local market presence and experience.

We are excited to begin this collaboration and look forward to working together to support veterinary surgeons with precision, innovation and patient-specific solutions.

Did you know? Certain knee and spinal conditions occur more frequently in French Bulldogs due to breed-related predisposition.

Two areas deserve particular attention:

Knee – patellar luxation
Abnormal displacement of the patella is an orthopaedic condition seen relatively frequently in the breed. It may cause recurrent lameness, altered weight-bearing and pain, and in more severe cases can significantly affect stifle biomechanics.

Spine – intervertebral disc and vertebral disorders
Certain spinal abnormalities and intervertebral disc diseases are also more commonly associated with French Bulldogs. These conditions may lead to back or neck pain, stiffness, reluctance to move and, in more severe cases, neurological signs.

Owners should pay attention to signs such as recurrent lameness, an abnormal gait, difficulty rising, reluctance to jump, or any sudden change in movement.

Step by step, LimesVet's international presence is growing.

Our patient-specific 3D-printed surgical guides and implants are reaching veterinary surgeons and clinics in an increasing number of countries, opening new opportunities for collaboration and supporting complex surgical procedures across borders.

Every new connection brings us closer to our goal: making patient-specific 3D technology more accessible to veterinary professionals worldwide.

*The map shows where we stand today, but our journey doesn't stop here.* We continue to expand our international network, build relationships with new veterinary surgeons and clinics, and bring our solutions to new markets.

More countries. More collaborations. More opportunities to advance veterinary surgery together.

"It was a good experience to attend the WVOC Congress in Rome. It was a great opportunity to learn from well-recognized specialists, gain new insights into veterinary orthopaedics and surgery (e..g, deformity corrections, articular resurfacing, joint replacements), and see some of the latest developments presented at the exhibition. I met many colleagues, both from home and abroad, and had many interesting conversations throughout the event." - Dr. Kalman Czeibert, head of r&d

LimesVet at WVOC 2026, Rome✨
From 23 to 26 September, the World Veterinary Orthopaedic Congress brings together the international veterinary orthopaedic community in Rome for several days of scientific exchange, innovation and networking. The programme includes more than 250 presentations across five parallel scientific streams, with topics closely aligned with LimesVet’s focus areas, including patellar surgery, limb deformity, spinal surgery, biomechanics and advanced orthopaedic techniques.

We are looking forward to exchanging experiences with industry professionals and gaining the latest insights.

See you in Rome at WVOC 2026.

TROCA 50 + FEMORISEC – One patient-specific plan, one combined procedure

Successful treatment of patellar luxation requires a whole-limb approach. Trochlear dysplasia may be only one component of the problem, while femoral deformity can also contribute to abnormal patellar tracking.

As part of the preoperative planning, LimesVet evaluates the patient's CT data and performs the necessary anatomical measurements to assess femoral alignment and deformity. The required correction—including the appropriate angle of rotation and/or osteotomy—is determined and demonstrated on the patient's 3D model during surgical visualization.

When both the trochlea and femoral deformity need to be addressed, TROCA 50 and FEMORISEC can be integrated into the same patient-specific surgical plan. Their functions are combined in a patient-specific surgical guide, supporting both the planned femoral correction and accurate positioning of the TROCA 50 implant during the same procedure.

TROCA 50 enables patient-specific trochlear resurfacing without the need for a trochlear osteotomy, while FEMORISEC supports correction of the femoral deformity. The TROCA 50 implant is fixed to the distal femur with cortical screws.

Other factors contributing to patellar luxation—including tibial alignment, tibial tuberosity position, the extensor mechanism and soft-tissue balance—must also be evaluated and addressed when indicated.

From measurements and 3D visualization to patient-specific guides and surgery: one coordinated plan for the whole limb.

Dr. Bence Lengyel represents a new generation of forward-thinking veterinary orthopedic surgeons.

Throughout his career, he has remained highly open to innovation and the practical application of new technologies. Having already performed numerous surgeries using the TROCA system, he has first-hand experience of how patient-specific 3D planning, custom implants, and surgical guides can support veterinary surgeons in complex orthopedic cases.

In our latest interview, we spoke with him about his professional experience, challenging surgical cases, the advantages of working with LimesVet, and the future of innovation in veterinary surgery.

“For me, the greatest advantage of LimesVet is foresight.”

TROCA 56 – Patient-specific trochlear resurfacing without screws

The same patient-specific TROCA concept can also be applied with a different method of fixation.

TROCA 56 is the screw-free version of the LimesVet TROCA system. Like TROCA 50, it is individually designed from the patient's CT data to match the distal femoral anatomy and provide an appropriately shaped trochlear surface for patellar tracking.

The key difference lies in how the implant is fixed to the bone.

Instead of cortical screws, TROCA 56 incorporates integrated lattice pins. Patient-specific drilling guides and cannulated drill bits are used to prepare the corresponding pin channels with controlled positioning. The implant is then seated onto the trochlea, where the lattice pins provide initial press-fit fixation and are designed to support subsequent bone ingrowth.

As with TROCA 50, reconstruction of the trochlear surface is achieved without a trochlear osteotomy.

However, treating patellar luxation requires more than addressing the trochlea alone. TROCA is therefore used as part of a whole-limb approach: the complete extensor mechanism and limb alignment are evaluated, and additional corrective procedures are incorporated into the surgical plan whenever indicated.

Patient-specific planning makes it possible to integrate these procedures into a single strategy—from trochlear resurfacing to tibial tuberosity transposition or correction of femoral or tibial deformities when required.
