The plan was 21 years on the mats under Roger Gracie. A nutrition degree at King’s College London. An apprenticeship on the gym floor at Gymbox Bank. A clinical partnership with Dr Matt Milner, A&E consultant. Opening BTX in Hampstead in 2020.

How do I stay in shape year round ?

It’s all very well that people can get into shape for a photoshoot but more often than not people end up even fatter than before they started their diet.

1. I always make sure I’m full. I don’t skip meals allowing me to make poor choices when I’m hungry.
Start by eating a lean protein source 30-50g 4-6 times a day

2. I prioritise my sleep.
I make sure I get my 8 hours every night and go to bed the same time each night. This stops sugar cravings and allows me to recover fully for each day of work

3. I allow myself to eat junk food if I want it. Banning food and then punishing yourself just causes a yo-yo of starvation and binging. If you go off plan. Just get back to it. DO NOT try and make up for it by skipping meal !

4. I very rarely drink alcohol and if I do it will be to enjoy the drink and not to get plastered. If you NEED to drink heavily every time you get into a social interaction maybe you’re hanging around with the wrong friends. Next time you see them don’t drink and if they don’t want to see you. You having drinking partners not friends

5. I train consistently and don’t take big patches of time off. I see it as a privilege to be healthy and be able to do what I love every day and want to keep it that way. The ultimate form of self love is looking after yourself

6. I’m a massive foodie. One of my main hobbies is going to nice restaurants. I promise you. You can stay in shape and enjoy your life. Being present when you eat and actually enjoying your food is very different to gorging !
