We hear a lot about cholesterol, but what can we do day to day to help keep it at a healthy level?

October is National Cholesterol Month, and in today’s video, Kerrie shares simple, practical changes that can help lower cholesterol and support heart health.

Looking after ourselves can start with small, achievable steps. Understanding why those steps matter helps too.

A little creativity and some lovely company! 💙🕯️

We had a wonderful time making candles at The Avenue Club, at a workshop organised by our very own Neha from Visiting Angels West London, in partnership with Full of Life Richmond.

It was lovely to see everyone getting stuck in, trying something new and enjoying a chat as they created their own candles. Such a simple, enjoyable way to spend time together and get to know others in our local community.

Thank you to The Avenue Club, Full of Life Richmond and everyone who came along. And a special thank you to Neha for bringing us all together!

We’re already looking forward to more creative afternoons in good company. 💙

A lovely afternoon of learning, sharing ideas and getting to know our local care community! 💙

Last week, we joined the team at Wandsworth Common Care Home for their Care Networking Event, met fellow care professionals, and discussed how we can support people and their families across our community.

The beautiful Sky Garden was the perfect setting, with sunshine, wonderful views and plenty of good conversation.

A special thank you to Margaret Cazalet Ambrose for her informative talk on wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and the importance of planning ahead.

Also, a heartfelt thank you to Gloria Olajuyigbe and Emily Taylor for the amazing collaboration! 🤝

At Visiting Angels West London, we know how much it matters for families to have people they can turn to. Getting to know other local professionals helps us connect families with support and guidance when they need it.

Thank you to the team at Wandsworth Common Care Home for bringing us all together and making us feel so welcome! 💙

With World Menopause Day coming up this Sunday, 18 October, this week’s No Care Jargon, Honest Conversations explores an important question: Is menopause just about hot flushes?

Hot flushes are a familiar symptom, but menopause and perimenopause can also bring changes in mood, difficulty sleeping, brain fog and joint aches. Everyone’s experience is different.

This week, we’re helping to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions and encourage more open conversations about menopause and its impact on everyday life.

The more we understand, the better we can support one another.

On Tuesday, Neha and Tavleen attended the Wandsworth Older People’s Forum (WOPF) Annual Conference 2026, which focused on The Future of Healthy Ageing: Voices, Partnership and Action.

It was a fantastic opportunity to come together with local organisations, community groups and residents to discuss how we can better support older people to live healthier, happier and more independent lives.

From strengthening community partnerships to ensuring older people’s voices are heard, the conference highlighted the importance of working together to make a positive difference.

A big thank you to Wandsworth Older People’s Forum for bringing everyone together for such an important conversation!

Caring for the people who care for others! ❤️🫶

Today is World Mental Health Day, and we’re reminding our wonderful carers that their wellbeing matters just as much as the wellbeing of the people they support.

To mark the day, we’ve created a campaign dedicated to our Visiting Angels carers, showing them how much they are valued and appreciated.

Every day, they bring kindness, patience and compassion to others. They deserve that same care and understanding too.

To all our carers, thank you for everything you do. Your mental health matters, today and every day. Please make time for yourselves and remember that it’s okay to ask for support too.

This Grandparents’ Day, we’re celebrating the grandparents who make home feel like home.

From stories and favourite recipes passed down through generations to everyday moments spent together, grandparents hold a special place in our families and communities.

We’re also remembering the grandparents who are deeply missed and recognising the love and care families give to one another.

At Visiting Angels, it’s a privilege to support grandparents to stay independent in the homes they love, close to the people and memories that matter most.

Happy Grandparents’ Day from all of us at Visiting Angels. 💙
