Learning Disability Network London We are a charity which supports adults and children with learning disabilities, and their families.

LDN (Learning Disability Network) London is an award-winning charity providing services for people with learning disabilities and their families in Westminster and other London boroughs. We believe that people with learning disabilities and their families have the right to live with respect and dignity throughout their lives. And that the people we support should receive services which respond to what they want, are respectful to them, shaped by them and meet their needs.

It was great to meet lots of people at the London job show today. ๐Ÿคฉ

We enjoyed chatting with people from many different backgrounds and hearing your interest in working for LDN London. People with different experiences, of different ages and cultures, bring so much to social care.

The most important thing is that you have the right values: empathy, respect, inclusion. That you want to support people with learning disabilities to be independent and have fulfilling lives.

We are back at Westfield tomorrow. Come and say hi. ๐Ÿ‘‹

LDN London will be at the London Job Show tomorrow and Saturday.

Come and find out about our work supporting people with learning disabilities and how you can make a difference too.

We have staff from different services and roles joining us. They'll happily tell you about their own journeys, and how you can build a career in social care. Come and say hi. ๐Ÿ‘‹

The Community Hub had a fantastic workshop with staff from the train company Heathrow Express. They talked about safe travel and employment. ๐Ÿš‚

Heathrow Express's team gave tips and advice about applying for jobs and how to write a great CV. ๐Ÿ“ They also talked about how to safely travel on trains and make journeys. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

We're grateful to Heathrow Express for visiting us and running this session. Community Hub members are looking forward to getting aboard the Heathrow Express, from Paddington station, soon!

Our Community Hub is making a big difference. The past year has been our biggest yet! We have supported more people with learning disabilities and autistic people than before. Over the past year:

โœ…147 people have been to sessions at the Hubs.

โœ…326 workshops held on many subjects (including health, relationships, arts and crafts, voting, advocacy, inclusion, trips and more).

โœ…115 Hub people have signed up as members.

โœ…49 people have been supported through 1:1 casework

Well done and thank you to LDN's community team: Luana, Laurence, Colin, Iman, Adele, Jay and Sally.

Thank you to Westminster City Council for your vital funding and support. And to all of our supporters, partners in the community and volunteers who have contributed so much. You've helped us keep going for this fantastic community. ๐Ÿ™

โ€œI chose to run for LDN London because, as a mum of two sons with special educational needs, their work is incredibly personal to me.

At a time when the SEND community is facing such a huge crisis, charities like LDN London provide vital support that families and individuals simply cannot afford to lose. For me, this run is about supporting those who support us. Iโ€™m incredibly proud to be fundraising for them.โ€

We're very grateful that Beth is running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for us on Sunday to support our work with families.

If you'd like to sponsor Beth and support our Family Service please do so here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bethhalfm-6a3d435ed3b42c19073ec806
