🎸 This time last week, Camden was talking punk…

We had such a fantastic evening at Black Music & Rebellion: 50 Years of Punk. The room was packed with punk fans, music lovers and people ready to share their questions, knowledge and enthusiasm. ⚡🎶

Expertly chaired by , our brilliant panel (via Zoom), and explored the Black music and Caribbean influences that helped shape punk’s sound, style and spirit.

There was so much musical passion in the room, with lively discussion, different perspectives and some brilliant questions from the audience. We’ve had such lovely feedback since, and it was wonderful to hear how much the conversation resonated. 💬🖤

And one thing was clear: you can’t talk about punk without talking about Camden. Its venues, communities, characters and musical history are all part of the story.

A huge thank you to our panel, everyone who packed out the room and for helping us bring this special evening together. 💙🧡💛

🎬 Going far, together

Last Monday, we had a packed house at the fabulous Samsung KX in King’s Cross for Storytellers Link-Up, and we left feeling inspired. 🎥

It’s always a joy partnering with to bring emerging creatives and industry professionals together. These conversations matter, creating space for honest advice, new connections and the encouragement people need to take their next step.

Our panellists shared how they found their way into high-end TV and film, the transferable skills that helped them get a foot through the door, and how opportunities can come from unexpected places. Panellist Natasha Envy even found out about the event through a WhatsApp group chat, showing the real power of staying connected to your creative community. 📱🔗

One audience member captured the spirit of the evening perfectly:

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” 🤝🏾🧡

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, shared a question and made a new connection. Here’s to going further, together. 🙌🏾

Hidden Histories of Camden 🔎🏛️ | Camden Blossoms

Welcome back to our series exploring the people, stories, and artworks that bring Camden's Black history to life.

Today, we're shining a light on the work of Camden artist Matt Small, creator of Camden Blossoms. 🔦 This striking mural celebrates the contributions of Camden's Caribbean community through four unique blossom artworks, each representing stories of service, activism, cultural identity, and unity.

Located on the outside wall of the sports centre in Talacre Gardens, the mural is a vibrant tribute to the people and communities who have helped shape the borough's rich history.

Follow along as we continue uncovering the people, stories, and art that bring Camden's Black history to life.

Who or what should we feature next? 💭Let us know in the comments. 👇
