Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of any groups or communities here or other networks that support disabled gay people?

I enjoy helping, advising & supporting other people; also, I need some support myself from time to time.

In life, we all go through stages where we need a little or a lot of help & support from others. I was physically capable of helping others up until 18 years ago when I started getting bad in health; 4 years ago I was diagnosed with COPD, so I hope to live a few more years yet, as aware it is a terminal illness, as I have in total 20 medical conditions, in an electric-powered wheelchair, needing 24.5 hours care a week. I am now 60 years old.

Being gay, I found it hard making friends, as we do not now have any gay venues here in Oldham; a couple that are friendly towards the gay community but are either not accessible to wheelchairs or have no disabled toilets.

Now that I am housebound without a friend or carer to take me to social events, it is difficult to find or make friends. I do use Facebook here and even run some groups here, but they are not that busy despite me trying hard to get them going; people join but never post.

I am looking for a network that I can join or possibly help to give advice, help, or send them in the right direction. I wish to support the disabled gay community of Oldham borough; at the same time, I need a little advice myself. I have found over the years that sharing life experiences can help others, as they are or might go through similar events as well or have family & friends who are having or needing some help or advice.

Anyone can suggest any disabled gay communities in or around Oldham; that would be great, thanks. 🥰💗👨‍🦼👩‍🦲😘 Kenny Fletcher xx.

I need either 2 PAs that I need doing the 2 separate types of shifts, or one PA to do both lots of shifts each week. I need a total of 24.5 hours of care a week, split at present among 3 PAs; it used to be 2 PAs.

A total of 14 hours a week.
The wage is £13.10 an hour
There is a chance of extra hours or shifts if a PA is off sick, on holiday, etc.
I use Instream Partnership as a broker that deals with wages, etc for me.
I live in North Chadderton, Oldham.
I need someone with care experience who has worked in social care in people's homes.
I have 20 medical conditions, including a terminal illness, COPD, and I also use an electric-powered wheelchair. I try to keep an independent living as independently as I can.
If you are interested, please email me at [email protected]
Once I have your CV, if you are suitable, I will send you the PA's duties & offer you an interview.
Thank you, Kenny Fletcher.

Good morning, I hope you are better than I am at present.

I am not in good health as a result of not sleeping very well, and my breathing is not too good. I am still waiting for an NHS COPD Team to be put in place. I was told by my COPD Nurse in March that she would arrange one, as a few weeks earlier I spent 17 hours in A&E at Royal Oldham Hospital & they said they would send a COPD team to my home within a couple of weeks, as I need a Nebuliser which I need to help me breathe better. I still haven't had any help!

I hope you have a great day & a wonderful week.
Take care, dear friends 😟xx.
