π΅ "I don't usually like music. I still don't like music. But I loved this."
That was Headway London member Innez's verdict after visiting The Music is Black: A British Story at V&A East as part of our Black History Music Project.
Over the last few months, members at our Hackney Day Service have been exploring the history, influence and joy of Black music with our Music Lead, James. Together we've welcomed inspiring guest artists, shared stories and creativity, and headed across London to experience music and culture firsthand.
From exploring exhibitions at and joining a communal jam session at , to shaking our stuff , the project has sparked conversations, connections and plenty of unforgettable moments.
And now it's time to celebrate everything our members have learned, created and shared... together.
