What an amazing two days at BPS Birmingham! 🎉

A particular highlight for us was our session on triage in primary care. It was fantastic to see so many people join the workshop, engage with the discussion, and share their experiences from across general practice.

We’ve had a really strong response from practices and PCNs looking for modern approaches to tackling the challenges currently facing general practice.

It’s been brilliant to connect with so many passionate people who are committed to finding better ways of working.

Thank you to everyone who came along, spoke with us, and shared their thoughts. We’re looking forward to continuing the conversations and working together to make a real difference.

What a day at Management in Practice London! 👏

It was great to spend the day meeting so many practices and PCNs and hearing first-hand about what’s happening on the ground in primary care.

One of the most interesting parts of the day was the conversations we had directly with GP practices. While every practice has its own challenges, there were some clear themes around workload, capacity and finding practical ways to manage demand without putting more pressure on already stretched teams.

These conversations are always valuable for us. They give us a much better understanding of what practices actually need - rather than what we might assume they need.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to come and speak to the Ortus Health team. It was great to meet so many familiar faces and plenty of new ones too.

And of course, a big thank you to the Management in Practice team for putting on such a great event.

Digital consultations are becoming an increasingly important part of primary care.

In January 2024, GP practices in England delivered around 1 million online consultations.

By January 2026, that figure had risen to around 3 million online appointments.

That’s three times as many in just two years.

For many patients, an online consultation can be a quick and convenient way to access care - particularly for follow-ups, advice, and straightforward clinical issues.

Used appropriately, digital consultations can help practices manage demand while ensuring in-person appointments remain available for patients who need them most.
