This week is National Fertility Awareness Week 💜

Fertility isn't one story, one experience or one path to parenthood.

For some, it's a straightforward journey. For others, it's IVF, fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, secondary infertility, donor conception or learning to navigate a future they hadn't imagined.

Some journeys are visible. Many happen quietly behind closed doors.

The truth? There is no right way to experience fertility, no timeline to follow and no single definition of what building a family looks like.

This week, let's break the silence, challenge assumptions and make space for every story.

Because every fertility journey is valid, every experience matters and every story deserves to be heard. 💜

Share your fertility story with us in the comments below.

💙 This Men’s Health Awareness Month, meet Max: The Modern Man.

At CRGH, we’re shining a light on men’s reproductive health and starting conversations that are too often overlooked.

💪 Meet Max. He looks fit, healthy and full of life on the outside. But appearances don’t always tell the whole story. Being fit and looking healthy doesn’t necessarily mean your fertility is healthy, too.

Throughout November, we’ll be exploring the everyday lifestyle factors that can influence male fertility, the impact of age on s***m health, and why taking a proactive approach to reproductive health matters.

Because fertility isn’t just a women’s issue. It’s time to challenge misconceptions, break down stigma and get men talking. 🗣️

Join us this November as we look beyond the surface and explore what it really means to be the modern man.

🧩 Could your microbiome be another piece of your fertility puzzle?

When you’re trying to conceive, it’s natural to have questions, especially when the journey doesn’t unfold quite as you hoped.
While we often hear about egg quality, s***m quality and embryo development, researchers are learning more about another part of the fertility picture: the reproductive microbiome. 🦠🔬

The delicate balance of bacteria within the va**na and uterus may play a role in the environment needed for implantation and pregnancy and it’s an area of fertility research that continues to develop.

🦠 What exactly is the reproductive microbiome?
🌱 Why could it matter for implantation?
🧪 Who might benefit from microbiome testing?
🔬 And what does the latest evidence tell us?

The microbiome is only one part of a much bigger fertility picture, and testing isn’t right for everyone. But for some patients, it may offer another useful piece of information to help understand their individual fertility journey.

Find out more in our blog - https://kntn.io/D2lkdO

In this blog, we explain what the latest evidence tells us, why the endometrial microbiome is attracting so much attention, and what it could mean for patients undergoing fertility treatment.

What actually happens during IVF? 🧬

IVF can feel complicated, especially when you’re first exploring fertility treatment. Understanding the process can help make those first steps feel a little clearer.

IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) is a fertility treatment where eggs are collected from the ovaries and fertilised with s***m in a laboratory.

The process usually begins by stimulating the ovaries to help multiple eggs develop. Once ready, the eggs are collected and fertilised with s***m. Any resulting embryos are then carefully monitored as they develop, before a selected embryo is transferred into the uterus with the aim of implantation and pregnancy.

IVF may be recommended for a variety of reasons and every fertility journey is different. Whether IVF is the right treatment will depend on your individual circumstances and clinical assessment.

Watch for a simple introduction to the IVF process, and save or share this with someone who may find it helpful. 💛

🔬 A closer look at embryo development, without disturbing their carefully controlled environment.

Time-lapse imaging uses specialised incubators with built-in cameras to capture frequent images of embryos as they develop, creating a continuous record of their growth. 🎥

This means our embryologists can observe important developmental patterns in greater detail, without needing to remove embryos from the controlled environment of the incubator.

🧫 The additional information can support expert embryo assessment and help inform decisions around embryo selection for transfer.

At CRGH, time-lapse imaging can be offered to patients who would like continuous monitoring of their embryos during treatment.

By combining advanced laboratory technology with the expertise of our embryology team, we provide personalised care to support informed treatment decisions at every stage.

▶️ Watch to discover how time-lapse imaging gives our embryologists a detailed view of embryo development.

Did you know? 🧬

Embryos can be frozen and stored for 20+ years and can still result in healthy pregnancies.

Through vitrification, embryos are rapidly frozen and preserved at very low temperatures, allowing them to be stored for future treatment.

For many patients, embryo freezing can offer greater flexibility and the opportunity to plan treatment around their individual circumstances.
