CoppaFeel! have launched new guidance on checking your chest if you’re disabled 💗

Everyone deserves information that helps them check their chest and get to know their body. This new guide is for people who may find checking difficult because of a disability or condition affecting movement or sensation in their upper limbs or body.

It was created with Muscular Dystrophy UK, with input from disability charities and their communities.

New Healthwatch Lambeth report: Black women’s experiences of fibroids and endometriosis care in Lambeth.

What happens when serious symptoms are repeatedly dismissed, normalised or not taken seriously?

We are pleased to share our new report, “I’m Equal. I Matter. I’m Here.”, which brings together the experiences of 20 Black women living with fibroids and/or endometriosis.

Women told us about symptoms that were serious, disruptive and life-altering, but too often normalised or not taken seriously. They described delays in investigation, diagnosis, and referral, having to prove the severity of their symptoms, and the ways that race and gender could influence their experiences of care.

Our report sets out practical recommendations for improving care – from earlier recognition and diagnosis to better communication, treatment and aftercare, and action to address racial inequalities.

Most importantly, these findings come directly from women’s experiences. The report sets out practical recommendations for improving care – from earlier recognition and diagnosis to better communication, treatment, and aftercare, alongside action to address racial inequalities.

Their voices point to what needs to change.

Did you know that local Healthwatch organisations help make sure people's experiences of health and care services are heard and acted upon?

We are pleased to present our 2025/26 Annual Report, highlighting a year of achievements and ongoing commitment to reducing inequalities and improving health and social care services in the borough.

The report showcases the impact of our projects and how health and care services have improved from listening to your experiences. Your feedback helped lead to practical improvements in GP practices and informed strategic plans on neighbourhood working, hospital discharge, mental health care, digital services, and more.

The report also shows how we have worked with specific communities to create change. Findings from our projects with Black men with a Serious Mental Illness and people experiencing homelessness and dual diagnosis have both led to strategic commitments for improvement.

Read the report in full to learn more about our work, advice and information service, volunteer program, and future priorities.
