Spinal Research Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding research into treatments for Spinal Cord Injury. Together we will cure paralysis.

Spinal Research, charity 1151015, was founded in 1980 to fund research into spinal cord injury and repair. Our aim is to restore sensation and mobility to people paralysed as a result of a spinal cord injury - our vision is a world where spinal cord injury does not mean a lifetime of paralysis. We fund our pioneering research through donations, as we receive no government funding. You can support us at www.spinal-research.org

There's still time to register for our upcoming webinar.

Could stimulating a nerve in the body help improve recovery after spinal cord injury?

Join us for our next free research webinar on Tuesday 27 October with Dr. Epperson from the University of Texas at Dallas, who will be discussing exciting research into vagus nerve stimulation and spinal cord injury recovery.

Dr. Epperson will explain how a technique called 'closed-loop vagus nerve stimulation' can be used alongside rehabilitation, and what researchers are discovering about its potential to help the nervous system relearn and recover after injury.

As always, the webinar is free to attend and there’ll be an opportunity to ask questions.

Congratulations to James and Mark, who raised over £600 from an epic sailing challenge around the Isle of Sheppey.

The duo spent eight hours on the water, and despite experiencing tricky tides and wind they have pledged to be back next year continuing to raise funds for Spinal Research. Thank you, both!

Meet Adam, a participant in our ARC-EX Real World Programme.

ARC-EX uses electrodes placed on the back of the neck to deliver gentle electrical stimulation to the spinal cord. This activates dormant nerve pathways and promotes neuroplasticity.

We recently spent a day at the Matt Hampson Foundation Get Busy Living Centre with Adam. Check out our new video on YouTube to learn more 👇
