One of the best things you can teach your kids?
How to feed themselves. ❤️

Not just how to make a meal…

…but how to feel confident in the kitchen, make choices, and have a go.

This is my 17-year-old’s cooking 👨‍🍳

Is it always what I would choose? Definitely not 😂

But does he cook? Yes.
And that matters.

I encourage him to add some veg, think about getting some protein in, and build a meal that will actually fuel him.

But I also want him to enjoy food, experiment, make mistakes and work things out for himself.

Because healthy eating isn’t about having a perfect diet.

It’s about giving kids the skills and confidence to look after themselves when we’re not there to do it for them.

And honestly… at 17, I’d much rather have a teenager who can cook himself a meal than one who thinks dinner magically appears on the table. 😉

Teach them the skills. Let them have a go. ❤️

I used to think getting lean meant being really “good” for a few weeks. Eat less. Train harder. Avoid anything that didn’t fit the plan.

The problem was I could never live that way long enough for the results to last & everything felt ‘extreme!

What changed was building habits I could keep doing whether I was actively losing fat or not.

Here’s what I’d focus on:
→ Build every meal around protein. Aim for roughly 30-40g at most meals so hitting your daily goal doesn’t become a scramble at dinner.
→ Strength train 3xweek.
→ Know your calories and macros. You don’t have to track forever, but understanding portions and what your body actually needs is a game changer.
→ Walk every day. Steps are one of the simplest ways I keep my daily movement consistent without adding endless cardio.
→ Stop treating weekends differently. I still prioritise protein, movement, water, and hunger cues while making room for meals out and family plans.
→ Learn how to maintain. Fat loss shouldn’t be your permanent setting. Being able to increase calories and maintain your results is part of the process.
→ Stop reacting to one bad day. One meal, missed workout, or higher weigh-in doesn’t require starting over. Get back to your normal habits at the next opportunity.

That last one changed everything for me.

The goal isn’t to become really good at losing weight. It’s to build a way of eating, training, and living that makes it easier to keep the results once you get there.

Fat loss is a phase. Your habits are what come with you afterward.

🐾 Happy 10th birthday to the one who gets me up and out every morning, makes sure I hit my steps and is happy with payment exclusively in treats. 💙🐾

A new week, but you don’t need a whole new you. You don’t need to change everything, become more disciplined or suddenly have loads of energy and time.
Start with what you have. Eat a little better.
Move your body. Lift something heavy. Get outside. Go to bed earlier. Do the things you know help you feel better. This isn’t about changing who you are.
It’s about building the healthiest, strongest version of the woman who’s already here.
Start where you are.

A lot of women hit their late 20s or 30s and suddenly feel frustrated with their body.
The things that used to “work” don’t anymore.
Skipping meals.
Doing extra cardio.
Trying to eat as little as possible for a few weeks.
And it’s easy to assume something is wrong with your metabolism.
But most of the time, your body isn’t broken.
Your lifestyle has changed.
Stress is higher.
Sleep is lower.
Recovery matters more.
Muscle matters more.
Your body just requires a more intentional approach now. 💚

Recovery matters more.
Muscle matters more.
Your body just requires a more intentional approach now.
Less extremes.
More structure.
More consistency.
And honestly? That’s not a bad thing.
Because the quick fixes stop working... but better strategies start.
The kind that actually last. ✨
