A few months ago, a routine check-up gave him Charles a nudge he couldn’t ignore, so he started wearing a Nico energy sensor.

When he began, his blood sugar was going up and down around 20 times a day. Three months on, it’s far steadier.

The food log is what made the difference for him. Over time, it showed him which meals sent his glucose up and which didn’t, and when something did, a Nico-prompted walk afterwards helped bring it back down.

A bit of weight has come off along the way, and he’s got more energy than he used to. The refereeing, sadly, is still just as stressful. Luckily it’s not his full time job.

If you’re stopping Mounjaro or Wegovy, this GP has a warning.

A hard stop leads to rebound weight gain and a worse body composition than before you started. Dr Flora Bailey plans the exit before the first jab, and she says most people need to hold their new weight for 12 to 18 months.

Should online pharmacies be allowed to prescribe these without a proper consultation? 👇

Worth sending to anyone on a jab.

Most protein bars spike John's glucose. This one didn't.

Spike test dummy: John eats .fatt

John wears a Nico energy sensor, which monitors his blood sugar. This means he can see exactly what a snack does to his glucose. His problem with most "protein" bars is the sugar content, which undoes the point of eating them. He wanted something that fuels him without the spike.

The .fatt raspberry and almond bar resulted in John's glucose staying flat.

Per 30g bar there's 1.9g of carbs, 1.5g of that sugar. The rest is 10g of fat and 11g of fibre, most of it inulin from chicory root.

The carbohydrate breaks down to glucose, but there's barely any available carb here. Fibre passes straight through without becoming blood sugar. The fat slows digestion down on top of that.

Cake usually causes a massive glucose spike. And if it doesn't, it's because sugar free cake tastes like card.

I visited to see what the hype was about. Their rocky road cake: biscuit pieces + chocolate was absolutely delicious. But also SUSPICIOUS. No way a cake that tastes that good won't show up in my blood sugar?

Luckily I'm a glucose detective wearing a sensor. An hour later, my glucose hadn't gone up at all.

I walked in half-expecting the usual sugar-free story: the label says one thing, the sensor says another. Then I met the owner, Joulie. She's type 1 diabetic and started the cafe because she was tired of being sold "sugar-free" and getting spikes anyway. She told me she nearly died a few times because she was missold food that was supposedly low carb. So she made the food she actually needed to eat and you can try it in Canary Wharf.

Watch the video to see the exact results on the .live app.

If you eat low-carb, or you're living a ketogenic lifestyle, you might want to visit Yummzy. They even do low-carb alcohol.

is getting called a grifter this week. Bit unfair on someone who’s got thousands of people off the sugar and moving, but that’s not our fight.

It’s the comments we keep getting pulled into, all saying the same thing: nobody needs electrolytes.

For most people eating the standard recommended glucose overload,, fair enough. Plenty of salt is hidden in your food and your body holds onto it fine.

Drop the carbs though and the whole thing flips. Lower glucose means lower insulin, and insulin is the hormone that tells your kidneys to cling onto sodium. Take it away and you start flushing sodium out, with magnesium and potassium following it straight out the door.

Which is why some of us genuinely do need to top them back up. Just read the label before you buy.

Supplements like and give you the minerals with no sugar. A Dioralyte sachet carries nearly a teaspoon. The original .uk has more than two.

And your whole bloodstream only holds about a teaspoon of glucose at any one time, so have a think about what you’re tipping back in.

So which one are you: someone who actually needs them, or someone who’s been told nobody does?

and - we’ owe you an apology.

I said Hawkstone would spike his glucose but I was wrong.

Most non alcholic la**rs create big glucose spikes with none of the fun. So I did an experiment - same meal, same b**r while wearing a glucose sensor. And my glucose was nearly flat as a result.

I chose the same meal Protein, real food, lettuce wrap instead of the bun. That’s 37g of glucose molecules he skipped. His circulation only normally keeps around 5g of glucose in at one time.

They’ve created an almost spike-free zero alcohol l***r and aren’t shouting about it.

Fitting timing: the brand finally got a TV ad approved, it airs tonight before the England game.

The scale says you’ve lost 10kg. It can’t tell you what you’ve lost.

Arthur at Scanletics runs DEXA scans - the gold standard for understanding body composition. asked him whether he’s seeing any evidence of what the headlines are catching up with: people on synthetic GLP-1 drugs dropping weight fast, but a worrying chunk of it is muscle.

That matters more as you age. Muscle is your metabolic sink; it’s what keeps you strong, mobile and burning glucose well into your 70s and 80s.
What we’ve seen with our members on these medications backs him up. The ones who do well treat the drug as a window, and use it to build the eating and strength habits that hold when the prescription ends. Protein first. Resistance training non-negotiable. Data to check what’s actually changing under the skin.

The number on the scale was never the full story. Knowing what you’re losing is.

Everyone’s talking about Jeremy Clarkson giving up meat to save his life. But he already showed us what he’s really doing - he filmed it in a Five Guys.

He’s done something really smart here. Prioritised protein, eaten the real food on offer including fibre, and cut the hidden sugar by swapping the bun for a lettuce wrap. That’s 37g of carbs he just didn’t eat.

The real driver of heart disease isn’t fat or meat. It’s years of glucose overload: chronically elevated blood sugar, chronic insulin response, arterial inflammation.

He’s figured that out. He just hasn’t looked at what’s in the glass yet. Non-alcoholic b**r still spikes your blood glucose… it’s one of the tougher discoveries many Nico members make when they wear a glucose sensor!!
