We’re delighted to share that Branksome Heights Care Home has been named Care Establishment of the Year at the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) Awards! 🏆

Judges praised the home for making food a core part of dignity, health and wellbeing. They highlighted its fine-dining approach to texture-modified meals, which are piped, shaped and moulded to look and taste like their standard counterparts. They also recognised its themed “Armchair Travel” days, which spark memories and support residents living with dementia.

Head Chef Adam Lenherr and Regional Hospitality Manager Simon Lewis collected the award at the gala dinner, but this one belongs to the whole home. Kitchen, care, housekeeping, activities, admin and maintenance all play their part. 💙

Within the North West, we know what a positive impact singing has in our homes for both residents and staff, so we jumped at the chance to celebrate on Saturday, 17th October. 🎵🎤

We decided to sing ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing’ by The New Seekers. Each home was allocated a verse to sing and record on video! 🤩

We may not all have been in ‘harmony’, but we certainly had a lot of fun putting it together, and there was plenty of laughter!

We all agreed how wonderful it would be if we could ‘… see the world for once, all standing hand in hand, and hear them echo through the hills for peace throughout the land’. 💜

Huge congratulations to Brooke House Care Home manager Oana Lungan, who's been shortlisted for the Registered Manager Award at the Great British Care Awards' East of England final! 🏆

Nominated by staff and residents' families, Oana will represent Brooke House Care Home at the awards in Milton Keynes on 30th October, supported by deputy manager Charlotte Colderwood.

Since joining as manager 16 months ago, Oana has helped the home's reputation flourish in the community. With many new residents coming through personal recommendations. She puts her success down to always being caring, compassionate and there for her team. 💙

Who knew the secret to a great workout was 5,500 miles away? 🧘‍♀️✨

Residents across Kingsley Healthcare care homes are loving live-streamed chair yoga sessions from Ayush Wellness in Sri Lanka! Tailored to each home and packed with stretching, breathing exercises, brain games and even a bit of tai chi. These sessions are boosting mobility, mood and social connection.

At Brackley Care Home, what started with a few sceptical faces has turned into a fully booked class every week. As resident Rosemary Murphy put it: "I always try my best at every class and think that I am getting better at it."

On Sunday Oaklands Care Home opened their doors for the Autumn/Winter charity fashion show in aid of The Blossom Charity. With their own staff hitting the catwalk for the second year running!

Together they raised over £400 to support The Blossom Charity's amazing work helping people rebuild their confidence. 💛

Catherine Jones, our Activities Coordinator, said: "It was a wonderful afternoon of fun, fashion and fundraising, and a great way of connecting with the local community."

Five Kingsley Healthcare homes were honoured with prestigious end-of-life care awards at the Gold Standards Framework's annual conference in Birmingham! 🏆

Eversley Lodge Nursing Home took home the top Platinum Award, while Thorp House Care Home, Highcliffe Nursing Home, Queen Charlotte Nursing Home, and Branksome Heights Care Home all received Quality Hallmark Awards for their GSF accreditation.

A huge congratulations to all the staff whose dedication and compassion made this possible. This recognition is a true testament to the outstanding end-of-life care provided across our homes. 💙

100 Miles for Alzheimer's Society 💙🚴

A dedicated team of carers from Thorp House Care Home calling themselves Tour de Thorp, are cycling 100 miles in 28 days to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.

Starting 7th September and finishing 5th October, they'll complete their final miles at Thorp House, Griston, Thetford.
