Have you ever felt like you’re constantly walking on eggshells? 🥚
A lovely lady came up to me at the gym today and said:
“I’ve done it. I’ve finally done it.”
She had left a job where she’d been feeling stressed and on edge around her manager for a long time.
And that phrase — walking on eggshells — is actually such a poignant one 💫
Because sometimes we look at our daily life experiences and health as separate things:
💭 We feel exhausted.
💭 Our mood is all over the place.
💭 We’re not sleeping well.
💭 We have aches and pains.
💭 We just don’t feel like ourselves.
So we go to the doctor, have some blood tests, and if everything comes back “normal”, we can be left wondering what on earth is going on.
But what if we also looked at what’s happening in our lives?
Our relationships.
Our work.
Our environment.
The pressure we’re under.
The places where we don’t feel completely safe to just be ourselves.
Because your body doesn’t experience your work life, your relationships and your health as completely separate things.
It’s all connected. 🌿
Living with ongoing stress can keep your nervous system in a heightened state, and that can influence things like sleep, digestion, mood, energy and other aspects of your wellbeing.
And sometimes the most important part of looking after ourselves isn’t another supplement, another diet or another thing to add…
Sometimes it’s asking:
“What in my life is asking too much of my body?”
✨ Your symptoms aren’t necessarily “all in your head.”
✨ And your health isn’t just about what you eat.
Sometimes, we need to look at the whole picture.
💚 What does “walking on eggshells” mean to you?
