A lovely friend sent me this quote today, very apt as we had spoke about Louise Hay and our counselling training.

I was introduced to Louise Hay twenty years ago, her book ‘You can heal your life’, was one of the recommended text on my nutritional healing course. I still dip into this book now for guidance.

‘If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed’. Louise L. Hay.

Louise offers profound insight into the relationship between the mind and the body.

Carl Rogers (Psychotherapist who founded the Person centred approach to counselling), defined the core motivational force in all living things as the actualising tendency—an innate, ongoing drive to actualise, maintain, and enhance the experiencing organism.
We are striving for growth even when we think we are not, like the flower growing in the cracks of the pavement. Keep going, you’re probably doing better than you think.

See last post forgot to add my sunset from the summer house and what I would have seen if I’d gone away, feeling content, rested and organised for staying home. 🙂

How’s your Monday going?

I’m back to Pilates today, I moaned non stop when I first started it, now miss it when I’m not there. Happy I can still do the exercises after a break.

I passed up the chance to go away at the weekend, just felt I needed to stay home and crack on with study and my autumn clean/declutter. When I was sent the pics of the sunset and highland cow I was erm why did I stay home. Ha

I was a bit tired yesterday so made sure I had my vitamins and water to drink.

I set myself small tasks in between watching the birds in the garden including two huge cormorants fly over, magnificent. I caught a lovely sunset of my own from the summer house.

In no time I’d done some of my assignment, made a lovely meal, made cacao energy balls, cleaned, put a wash on, small things in between sitting in the garden and summerhouse. Doing nothing would have been okay too, sometimes we need to rest more and just be.

Yesterday I had all my essential oils out, lemon in my diffuser, then wild orange. Geranium and frankincense in my face cream. Lemon in my drinking water. This morning I made a body oil with frankincense and geranium. The house smells amazing.

Message ‘aromatic’ if you’d like to find out more about therapeutic oils. I’m currently doing a 30 day ‘aromatic dressing’ challenge which is motivating me to use and find out more about essential oils from others 🌷🌺🌷🌺

Shared from mind charity. Mind

Take time for you, ‘being’ instead of constantly ‘doing’ is productive. I now set a time limit when I’m studying to make share I take breaks to relax, stretch, eat etc., easy to get carried away working and not take time for yourself.

Healing isn’t selfish it’s sacred. You’re not falling behind by slowing down, you’re choosing wellness and that matters. Healing Hearts

You matter, choose you, you’re health and wellbeing will thank you 🙏

Hydration, whole foods, sleep, walking, stretching, rest and finding balance.

What you do for the body will support the mind and what you do for the mind will in turn support the body if you choose the above.

Body-mind are connected, dehydration can effect energy and mood, unbalanced vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acid levels can effect physical and mental health. Cells, organs to include the brain need healthy fats.

We have been led to believe low fat diets are the way forward but what about the healthy fats needed for brain health.

My favourite feel good foods often include cacao and coconut, they are packed with nutrients and good fats. I never count calories, I’m more interested in foods that feed my bodymind. I will post some healthy snack recipe’s soon.

When a client arrives for counselling and tells me they feel anxious, depressed etc., I’m thinking dehydration, low Essential fatty acid profile, vitamin/mineral imbalance, poor sleep hygiene along with the usual emotions and life stories to explore and support.

When I qualify as a counsellor in a few months I will integrate holistic health, integrated whole health protocols and I can’t wait
