🍂🌿 Finding my grounding in nature 🌿🍂
Lately, I’ve been feeling a little ungrounded, and I’m aware that the changing seasons can affect me, particularly as I experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). As the days grow shorter, I’m trying to be more mindful of what my body, mind and spirit need. 🤎
Today, I enjoyed a beautiful six mile walk through the forest, making the most of the sunshine on my face, the rustling trees and the birds singing around me. ☀️🌳 Sometimes, it's the simplest moments that bring us back to ourselves.
The sunshine felt particularly nourishing for my solar plexus chakra, which I feel needs extra love and attention during the winter months. 💛
I love exploring the forest, discovering mushrooms and losing myself in photography. 🍄📸 There's something magical about slowing down and noticing the little things we might otherwise miss.
I also had a beautiful encounter with a very cheeky horse! 🐴 Horses have such a special, spiritual energy, and moments like these remind me to stay present and appreciate the unexpected gifts nature brings.
Alongside my walks, I've been practising chakra dancing and listening more closely to my body, giving myself permission to slow down and restore my balance. ✨
I've also been adding more red foods to my diet, including radishes, tomatoes and goji berries, to support my root chakra and connection to the earth. ❤️ Even more special, the tomatoes and goji berries are homegrown, making them little reminders of the joy of nurturing something from seed to harvest.
As we move into the darker months, I'm reminding myself that it's okay to feel a little out of balance sometimes. The important thing is to listen, nurture ourselves and find what brings us back to centre.
🌿 Nature reminds us that we don't have to bloom all year round. Sometimes, we simply need to rest, reconnect and trust the season we're in. 🍂🤎
What helps you feel grounded when the seasons change?
