It's Septemter and Workshop season has started again!
Yesterday I was with the Bakewell Parkinson's Support Group leading a workshop on Relaxation and Wellbeing.
It's a very friendly and supportive group and I would recommend it to anyone in the area with Parkinson's.

We offer information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson's, their families and carers. We also have speakers and arrange trips out.

One of the things I love most about giving reflexology treatments is getting to know my clients. Each one has their own story, and I get to learn a little more every time I give a treatment. It really is a joy.
Yesterday was no different. I had an afternoon full of beautiful women each bringing their own light into my treatment room.

The highlight was a new client who immediately struck me with her radiance and warmth. She settled onto my sofa for our introductory chat about her health and lifestyle, and I discovered she was 91 years old. Throughout our appointment she continued to fill the room with her sparkle and life, and I began to understand a little of how she sustained her health and wellbeing. After giving her a hand treatment and arranging her next visit, I watched her leave my cosy treatment room and I simply thought -
"When I grow up I want to be like you!"

WORKSHOPS: Handmade Health and Wellbeing

Did you know you can map the body onto the hands?
For example, the thumb corresponds to the head and neck, the palm holds internal organs and the digestive system. This is what reflexology is based on.
At this workshop, you will learn simple ways to support your health and wellbeing, and reduce the effects of stress, through using reflexology techniques on your hands. By gently pressing and stimulating different parts of the hands, you can bring relaxation and restoration to your body.
Once you’ve learnt some basic techniques you can share them with friends and family. And the beauty is that you always have your hands with you! So, you can use these methods at any time and in any place – to bring calm before an important event; to relax if you wake in the night; to release tension at the end of a busy day and more…...
Get in touch if you'd like to find out more about workshops for your business, voluntary group or charity.

HAND TREATMENTS available at Gentle Reflexology

HAND REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENTS
Let’s be honest – not everyone likes their feet being touched! This is where hand reflexology can be a great alternative to foot treatments.
Other people find that they simply prefer to have their hands treated. This may be because their hands are naturally more responsive and receptive than their feet. After all, our hands are one of the most sensitive areas in the body.
And some people may require hand treatments due to a foot or ankle injury or other conditions affecting their feet.
Whatever the reason, at Gentle Reflexology you will find hand treatments wonderfully relaxing and soothing.
If you are thinking of giving reflexology a try, a hand treatment may be a good choice to get you started.
