Safety Alert Issued

Safety Alert Issued

Do you use a baby sleeping bag like this? Or perhaps you know someone who does?

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued a Safety Alert today warning parents to avoid baby sleeping bags with hoods or without arm holes, as babies can suffocate, overheat or die in them.

Nearly 50 have been recalled since 2023. And far too many are still available to buy online.

Sleep bags should be well-fitted (think neck and arm holes that fit well), so that your baby can’t wriggle down inside. And sleep bags with hoods or head coverings should be avoided.

Worryingly, these aren’t the only dangerous baby products you can buy online.

The Advertising Standards Authority has spotted lots of high-risk ads promising quick fixes to sleep-deprived or first-time parents.

It is warning parents to be on high alert for online ads promoting baby products that claim to help with colic, reflux, sleep and soothing.

Have you seen any baby product adverts you’re worried about? Let us know in the comments.

Help Us Support Wansbeck Valley Foodbank Again This Year!

Due to the amazing response we had last year during our flu clinics, we will be again collecting donations for Wansbeck Valley Food Bank

If you're attending a flu clinic and would like to contribute, please consider bringing along an item to donate. The food bank is especially in need of the following items:

Breakfast cereal (any size/kind)
Tinned meat
Pek
Jars of jam or marmalade
Baked beans
Shower gel
Hair Shampoo /Conditioner
Pasta sauce

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference to families in need in our area.

There will be a clearly marked collection box available during clinic times.

Thank you for your support and generosity!

Update 10:36: Good news - we are now up and running. Thanks everyone for your patience.

Good morning, we still have IT connection issues and our phones are extremely busy, we very much appreciate your patience.
This has been a national issue where 80 surgeries were affected. IT are obviously working extremely hard to resolve these issues.
Many thanks

We still have no access to our clinical system or network. Please bear with us while the problem is resolved.
Unfortunately we are unable to access your medical records at this time. If you have an appointment and have access to the NHS App, it would be really helpful if you could bring it with you as this may assist us during your appointment.
If you need to be seen please contact us using the online form on our website.
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.
