We have a second vacancy
Step One Services Limited are looking for the right person to join our family business as part of our small community team.
The hours are approximately 16 hours a week with the possibility of more, covering holidays and sickness with the long-term goal of full time as we slowly grow. You will support adults from the age of 18 upwards by supporting them at home and in the community, tasks will include some personal care, shopping, household tasks, appointments and maybe trips or days out etc.
Experience preferred but not essential as full training is available, must have full driving licence and the use of a car.
We are looking for an immediate start once we have 2 references and a clear DBS

What we need from you

We are Hiring
Due to one of our carers moving on to further her career, Step One Services has a permanent Vacancy with-in our
Day Centre.
Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday 8.45am-4.00pm
We are looking for someone who is kind and has a compassionate heart with skills to enable our services users with basic living skills, cooking, art and crafts, numeracy and literacy skills and using the local community but most of all to enjoy life and have fun. Some personal care and support with medication will also be needed. End of day administration (Daily Records) and daily cleaning of Day Centre and toilets.
We can also offer extra hours in the community at weekends plus help with covering for holidays and sickness.
This would be assisting people with personal care, meals, medication, appointments, household tasks and much more.
You will need a full driving licence, and the use of a vehicle. Full training given, Care Certificate, Level 2 Health and Social Care, DBS provided plus benefits of an EPA programme and the Blue Light Card.

🦷✨ Learning All About Oral Hygiene✨🦷



At Step One Services Limited, we recognise that oral hygiene is a fundamental part of overall health and wellbeing. We are committed to ensuring that the people we support understand the importance of maintaining good oral health and feel confident in managing their own daily care routines.

This week, service users participated in a structured oral hygiene session designed to promote knowledge, independence, and self-care skills.

They explored:

🦷 What oral hygiene means

🦷 Why oral hygiene is important for overall health

🦷 Identifying tools used for oral hygiene, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss

🦷 Demonstrating proper toothbrushing techniques using the correct steps

🦷 The difference between healthy and unhealthy choices for our teeth

🦷 The consequences of not brushing teeth regularly

🦷 The importance of regular dental checkups and the consequences of not having regular check ups

✨ The session also included opportunities to demonstrate correct brushing techniques, helping to reinforce practical daily living skills. ✨

We are proud of the engagement shown throughout the session.

By embedding health education into our support, we continue to promote independence, confidence, and improved overall wellbeing for the people we support.

It was fantastic to see such great participation, thoughtful answers, and demonstrations of correct brushing techniques.
