Putting musculoskeletal health in the spotlight!

On Tuesday, Psoriasis UK joined fellow members of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA) in Parliament to mark Bone and Joint Week.

The event brought together MPs, peers and organisations to discuss the future of musculoskeletal (MSK) health, both locally and nationally. We were delighted to be there to make sure psoriatic arthritis is included in these important conversations.

More than 20 million people in the UK live with an MSK condition. Better care can help people reach their potential, stay in work, remain active and stay connected to their communities.

From London to Harrogate🚝

Psoriasis UK have been very busy today with some of our team at parliament to help campaign for a cross-cutting MSK strategy that delivers better outcomes for everyone living with MSK conditions.

Meanwhile, other members of the team are in Harrogate for BDNG for the next few days, where we just presented our new Policy Position paper to help transform psoriasis care.

Very busy, exciting times that hopefully lead to improvement in care for people living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis 💪

People with psoriasis deserve access to the right care, at the right time.

Today, Psoriasis UK is launching a new position paper, Transforming care for people with psoriasis: delivering outcomes they deserve, calling for a more coordinated and patient-centred approach to psoriasis care.

The paper was informed by insights from more than 220 people living with psoriasis and developed alongside healthcare professionals from across dermatology, primary care, nursing and pharmacy.

It sets out five patient-defined principles for rapid access to care:

✅ Timely access to the right expertise
✅ Personalised treatments and a treat-to-target approach
✅ Integrated psychological and holistic support
✅ Defined patient rights and expectations of care
✅ Continuous, planned care with clear escalation and rapid re-entry when needs change

We believe success should be measured by outcomes that matter to people with psoriasis, including quality of life, psychological wellbeing and effective disease control.
