Join in the fun at our No Mask Halloween Drop-In Party on Monday 26th October, 10:30am-2:00pm at APS, Sension House 🎃

Halloween can be an overwhelming time for many autistic children, young people and adults, so we're bringing back our popular 'No Mask' Halloween Drop-In party - a relaxed, autism-friendly event where everyone can feel comfortable.

Pop in for apple bobbing, Halloween crafts, sweet treats and refreshments in a safe, welcoming environment. Everyone is welcome and fancy dress is optional - but please no masks or face coverings.

The children's mental health crisis is placing unprecedented pressure on support services and demand for our support continues to grow. More children and young people are struggling with their emotional wellbeing, and families are facing long waits to access the help they need.

To help us meet this increasing need, we are expanding our team and recruiting for the following roles:

• Volunteer Children's Counsellors
• Trainee Counsellors seeking a placement (ready to work with children)
• Qualified and Trainee Play Therapists

By joining our friendly team, you'll be helping us provide vital support at a time when it's needed more than ever. If you're passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive, we'd love to hear from you.

Our 2026 APS Christmas Card Is Here! 🎄

We're delighted to share this year's beautiful winning Christmas card design by Michelle and Kylan. A huge thank you to them for creating such a wonderful festive design!

Cards can be purchased online and collected from APS at Sension House or from our Chester Club venues. Postal delivery is also available by adding the postage and packaging option at checkout. You'll also be able to purchase cards at selected APS activities and events.

Prices:
• 60p per card
• £2.50 for a pack of 5 cards

Every card sold helps support the work of APS, with all proceeds going directly to our charity.

That means mud, ice water, climbing walls, crawling through obstacles and pushing herself well outside her comfort zone, all to raise vital funds for autistic individuals and families across our community.

October is ADHD Awareness Month 💜

ADHD looks different for everyone. While many people associate it with hyperactivity, ADHD can affect focus, organisation, time management, emotional regulation, memory and much more.

This graphic highlights some common experiences associated with ADHD. While these may be familiar to many people, no two individuals experience ADHD in exactly the same way.

This ADHD Awareness Month, let's move beyond stereotypes, increase understanding and create spaces where neurodivergent people feel supported, accepted and valued.
