Jo's Somatic Trauma Informed Life Coaching Life looks fine on the outside, but feels empty on the inside? To reconnect, heal, and thrive. "Doing what it says on the Tin"

Being real and authentic!!!

Reconnect with yourself through Trauma Informed Somatic Coaching and understanding your nervous system. Talking therapy can open the door and give you insight, but lasting healing often requires being fully present in your body. Experiences like trauma, stress and even joy are not just held in the mind but in your body, so true change comes from feeling, moving, and responding to these patterns physically in your present self. Together in a safe and compassionate way, you can learn to find body awareness, regulate your nervous system and build a sense of internal safety. This will help ease anxiety, reduce physical tension and support emotional resilience.

How often do we answer "I'm fine" because we don't know how else to respond? I am always curious when people say this as this is an acronym, (it was permanently cemented into pop culture by the rock band Aerosmith)

Sometimes, it's because we don't want to share what's happening. At other times, it's because we genuinely cannot identify what we are feeling.

We may know that something has affected us, yet struggle to find an emotional label that fits. We might explain the circumstances to help others understand why we seem different, without being able to explain our internal experience.

Emotional awareness takes time, and it isn't always a matter of finding the right word.

In my work, I believe in creating space for people to explore their experiences without pressure to reach an immediate conclusion. We can become curious about emotions, bodily sensations and what might be needed, without judging ourselves for what we do or don't feel.

Sometimes, the most honest answer is simply, "I'm still working it out." That's still true for me.

One of the barriers parents tell us they face is not knowing what certain acronyms mean, or what professionals are referring too...

💜 Did you know PEGS developed a free guide for this? With the help of social workers, this guide has been developed so that you can become familiar with some of the terms you may hear or read.
