World Inclusion Day

10th October marks World Inclusion Day, promoting the acceptance of, support of and respect for individuals for who they truly are.

Solo Support Services are proud to work in conjunction with our clients to promote their inclusivity in society and achieve their desired outcomes to lead fulfilling lives. But promoting inclusion is wider than the accepting and advocating fo those with a physical and / or mental health diagnosis.

To achieve inclusivity, we must also demonstrate respect for the abilities, beliefs, backgrounds and cultures of all society and engage with diverse perspectives, so people feel listened to, appreciated and an unconditional sense of belonging.

Here are some ideas we are asking our employees to undertake, to promote inclusivity on World Inclusion Day and all year round:

Start a conversation to build connections and learn about the people around you.
Talk to your friends, family and children about what inclusion means and how they can promote this in every day life.
Eduate yourself and be aware of those who are under represented - this could be culture, language, media presence religion to name a few.
Practice kindness
Question yourself and be actively aware of how you demonstrate and practice inclusion every day.

Small steps can make a huge impact on the individuals around you and help to make the world a more inclusive place.

She’s also been a fantastic team leader, providing support to the wider team and this has strengthened trust and teamwork within the care package.

Thank you to Manisha.

Please send your nominations for Star of the Month to your CRM by the 25th of the month.
