🍎🍫 Chocolate Apple Making at Beeston Rise!

We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing afternoon making chocolate-covered apples with some of our residents!

We melted our chocolate, popped our apples onto sticks and poured over that lovely melted chocolate, ready to go into the fridge to set. 😋

Although we were supposed to wait for them to set, Janice couldn't resist! They looked far too juicy and delicious, so she got stuck straight in! 😂❤️

A lovely afternoon of getting hands-on, enjoying a sweet treat and sharing plenty of smiles!

☕️ A Little Coffee Treat for Joan! ❤️

Joan fancied a lovely fresh coffee, so we popped down to our local Co-op where we treated her to a regular Costa latte from there lovely costa machine!

Once back at Beeston Rise, Joan enjoyed her coffee alongside a delicious homemade lunch prepared by our wonderful chef. 🥰

Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference. A change of scenery, a little outing and a treat of your choice can make someone's day! ❤️

🍂 NOVEMBER EVENTS AT BEESTON RISE! 🍂

We have lots of exciting things happening throughout November, and we’d absolutely love to see some new faces! ❤️

We’re opening our doors to the local community, families and friends to come along, get involved and enjoy some lovely afternoons and mornings with us.

✨ 5TH NOVEMBER | BONFIRE NIGHT GLOW STICK PARTY
🕠 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Join us for an evening of bonfire night fun! We’ll have crafts, a bonfire-themed quiz, live singing, toasted marshmallows, s’more making and delicious apple crumble sticks with toffee sauce and ice cream! 🔥🎶

❤️ 10TH NOVEMBER | REMEMBRANCE DAY AFTERNOON TEA
🕑 2pm – 4pm
Come and join us for a special afternoon of remembrance. We’ll be sharing memories and stories with some of our residents who experienced parts of the war as children, alongside lovely hot drinks and homemade treats. A chance to reminisce, listen and share memories together. ❤️

🎗️ 13TH NOVEMBER | CHILDREN IN NEED COFFEE MORNING
🕚 11am – 12:30pm
Get your spots on and come along to support Children in Need! We’ll have colouring, crafts, hot drinks and plenty of homemade treats to enjoy. Don’t forget to wear your spotty outfits! 🐻💛

🎉 ALL EVENTS ARE COMPLETELY FREE! 🎉

There is no need to book or reserve a space – these are all non-bookable events, so simply turn up on the day!

🎃 Halloween Fitness Fun at Beeston Rise! 👻

We had the lovely Karen from Rise Fitness join us for a spooktacular Halloween fitness session, and what a treat it was!

Our residents enjoyed lots of Halloween-themed games, including Pass the Pumpkin, festive throwing challenges, seated hockey and football. There was plenty of laughter, team spirit and a little friendly competition! 🏆
We even had our lovely Kathleen being our referee making sure no one was being naughty and breaking the rules.

To finish, Karen presented everyone with a special sticker and gave each resident their moment to hold the Champion Cup trophy! 🥇 She even brought along Halloween hats and headbands for everyone to wear.

A huge thank you to Karen for bringing so much energy, encouragement and smiles to our home. You were absolutely amazing! ❤️

🎃 Pumpkin Carving Fun at Beeston Rise! 🧡

Our residents have been getting into the Halloween spirit with a lovely afternoon of pumpkin carving!

From getting hands-on with the pumpkins to exploring the different textures, scooping out the insides and discovering all those pumpkin seeds, there was plenty to keep everyone busy. 🎃

We especially enjoyed making this a sensory experience for our residents living with dementia, giving everyone the opportunity to get involved at their own pace and enjoy the activity in their own way.

There was lots of exploring, sharing stories and enjoying some lovely conversations along the way. It's always wonderful to see our residents getting involved in familiar seasonal traditions and creating new memories together.

We can't wait to see our finished pumpkins! 👻🧡

🎃👻TRICK OR TREAT AT BEESTON RISE!👻🎃

With Halloween just around the corner, we’re opening our doors and welcoming all our little witches, ghosts and ghouls to come trick or treating at Beeston Rise!🍬

Pop in with your trick or treat bag and come and see us… we’ve definitely got a treat waiting for you, but who knows, there may be a little trick hiding here too! 👀🦇

☕️ A Little Coffee Shop Treat for Christine & Mavis! 🤍

We took Christine and Mavis out for a lovely cup of tea at one of our local coffee shops, enjoying a little change of scenery. They asked to go out, so we took that as an excuse to treat them to a coffee shop trip.🫖☕️

Sometimes, it’s the simplest things that make the happiest memories, whether that’s enjoying a warm cuppa, whilst watching the cars and trams go by or having a lovely chat together.

We’re so lucky to have so many wonderful local coffee shops nearby, giving our residents the opportunity to enjoy little treats, get out into the community and experience something different. ❤️

Coffee shops are so special to some of our residents as they used to go to coffee shops regularly outside of the home. Us as a home want to keep that going with them and that’s why we do these trip and because who doesn’t love a little fresh coffee or tea. ⭐️

It’s all about making memories, enjoying the little things and making every day special! ✨

💜🌿 A little bag of lavender, a lifetime of memories! 🌿💜

Our top floor was smelling beautiful as we brought out our lavender and got creative making our very own lavender bags! ☕🪻 With a lovely cup of tea or coffee in hand, our residents filled and organised their bags, creating a treasured keepsake to enjoy the calming scent of lavender.

Many of our residents shared memories of growing lavender in their own gardens, with the familiar fragrance bringing back special moments from years gone by. 💜

A simple sensory activity filled with meaningful conversations, reminiscence and the comforting power of familiar scents. 🌿✨
