β οΈ Parking and Safety Concerns on Sidhu Close β οΈ
We are once again having to address the ongoing issue of inconsiderate parking and dangerous driving on Sidhu Close. These pictures were before the mass build up which meant patients couldn't even enter the car park and were late to appointments! We have been nice about it for so long, now it has to stop!
Vehicles are regularly being parked in a way that blocks access to the site, causing significant difficulties for patients, visitors, staff, deliveries and emergency vehicles. This behaviour is not only frustrating, it is creating genuine safety risks for everyone using the area. It creates one way traffic so people cant get in/out easily.
Imagine someone at home in desperate need of the rapid response team and they cant exit our car park because school pick up drivers have parked inconsiderately and blocked the way. That person now suffers and it's not fair!
People are being put at risk by vehicles being driven carelessly, parked on corners, obstructing visibility and blocking access routes. Patients, including elderly and vulnerable individuals, should not have to navigate dangerous conditions simply to access healthcare services.
Despite numerous requests, reminders and polite conversations, the problem continues. Even more concerning is the level of abuse and hostility some of our staff receive when they respectfully ask drivers to move their vehicles. Our team are simply trying to ensure safe access for everyone and should not be subjected to aggressive or unacceptable behaviour for doing so.
As a result, we have now engaged with parking monitoring companies and arrangements are being made to introduce parking enforcement measures in the very near future. Once implemented, vehicles parked in breach of the restrictions will be liable for penalty charges.
For those who continue to ignore the rules, park irresponsibly or believe these warnings do not apply to them, please be aware that enforcement action is coming and fines will be issued.
We would much rather rely on common sense, respect and consideration for others. Unfortunately, the continued disregard for patient safety and site access has left us with little choice. It is not fair on people using our service to be negative affected by people parking for a school run. We have recieved numerous complaints including near misses and enough is enough.
Thank you to the vast majority of patients and visitors who park responsibly and help keep everyone safe.
