We wanted to make families aware of the support available during the school holidays.
families may be able to access support through Oldham’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme. The programme provides funded holiday activities and aims to help children eat more healthily, stay active, remain safe and connected, and learn more about health and nutrition.
Children aged 5–16 who receive targeted benefits-related free school meals in Oldham can book eligible HAF sessions free of charge. From September 2026, HAF eligibility applies to children receiving targeted free school meals.
You can find out more and access booking information here: Holiday activities and food programme (HAF) | Oldham Council
Families who are unsure whether their child meets the criteria can also access the free school meals eligibility checker through the HAF page. Free school meals checker | Free school meals checker | Oldham Council
Other support available
The Oldham Council HAF page also provides links to other sources of support, including:
• We Can Help, for wider help and support available to Oldham residents. We can help | Oldham Council
• The SEND Local Offer, for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Oldham SEND Local Offer
• The Family Information Service, which provides information about services for children, young people and families. Family Information Service | Oldham Council
We appreciate that school holidays can bring additional pressures for families and would encourage anyone who may benefit from support to explore the options available through Oldham Council.

Good Morning
A polite request, if you are looking through the donation rail from Our Community Wardrobe - Oldham - CIC please can you keep the area clean and tidy.
We are a health care setting and the area is used for other things such as prescription drop offs and patients need clear access to this.
We shouldn’t have to be tidying up after people who have ripped open bags and taken our storage bags leaving items disorganised in the area.
If this proceeds to happen we will need to rethink wether we can accommodate the rail being at our practice and this is not something we want to do as it is so well received and Sally and the team work so hard to provide this service for people.
Please be mindful going forward 🥰

🩷October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

🩷Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the UK, so it's important to check your breasts regularly and be aware of any changes.

🩷If something doesn't feel right, get it checked. Early diagnosis and treatment can save lives.

🩷 Breast Screening Benefits
💕Early Detection: Finds cancers when they are very small and too tiny to see or feel, which makes them much easier to treat.
💕Higher Survival Rates: Catching cancer at its earliest stage significantly improves treatment success and lowers mortality rates.
💕Less Extensive Treatment: Early diagnosis often means less invasive treatment is required, reducing the need for major procedures like mastectomies.
💕NHS Program Availability: Under the NHS Breast Screening Programme, women and GP-registered females aged 50 to 71 are automatically invited for routine mammograms every 3 years.
