You can look completely capable on the outside while quietly feeling as though you're running on empty. You can suddenly have a much shorter fuse, lose confidence in yourself, feel disconnected from your body or intimacy, or know you want to move more but have absolutely no idea where to start.
These are all part of women's health too, and we're making space for those conversations at Women's Winter Wellness.
Dr Livia Pontes from Pontes Psychology will explore menopause, overload and that increasingly short fuse. Why can irritability become so much harder to manage, and what might it actually be trying to tell us?
Emma Sutherland from Shine With Emma will bring practical wellbeing and seasonal self-care into the conversation, looking at how we can slow down and reconnect without simply adding another 17 things to our morning routine.
Amy Pepper from Revive / Zen at Revive will explore the power of movement and the different ways exercise can support women's health, from strength and cardiovascular fitness to Pilates and yoga. Importantly, she'll also talk about overcoming that fear of simply getting started.
And Maya Dattani will open up a conversation we don't have nearly enough about: pleasure, intimacy and self-connection. Her talk isn't simply about s*x; it's about feeling safe and connected to your body and rediscovering parts of yourself that may have disappeared beneath years of responsibility.
There really shouldn't be any area of women's health that we're too embarrassed, ashamed or uncomfortable to talk about. That's exactly the kind of afternoon we want this to be.
