💜 Could oxaloacetate help with brain fog and fatigue?

The ME Association has shared an informative article following a recent Daily Mail feature exploring oxaloacetate, a supplement being researched for its potential role in energy production and symptoms such as brain fog and fatigue.

Although the research is not specifically focused on fibromyalgia, our community may still find the information interesting.

Read the article and Dr Charles Shepherd’s comments here: https://meassociation.org.uk/uzne

Please remember that research into supplements is ongoing, and this article is for information only.

The Daily Mail interviews Dr Charles Shepherd about supplement for brain fog and fatigue

On the 21st October, the Daily Mail published a new article, with the headline, “The ‘chemo' supplement that could beat brain fog and fatigue: Users swear by it… and now scientists share promising evidence it could actually help.”

Oxaloacetate is involved in chemical pathways that convert nutrients into cellular energy. New research has been done into its use in breast cancer survivors, but there has previously been studies into it's usage for people with ME/CFS and Long Covid.

Dr Charles Shepherd, MEA Hon. Medical Adviser, was interviewed as part of this article, and we share on the blog some notes on the key points Dr Shepherd made during the interview (which were not all published) about this supplement which you may find useful.

🏃‍♀️💜 INTRODUCING TEAM FIBRO 2027! 💜🏃‍♂️

We are absolutely delighted to introduce our amazing team taking on the 2027 TCS London Marathon in support of Team Fibro! 🎉💪

Meet our fantastic five: Navid, Kirsty, Harry, Alexandra, and Shane! 💜

These incredible individuals are taking on the challenge of 26.2 miles to help raise awareness of fibromyalgia and support the work we do to make a difference to those living with this often invisible condition.

Training for a marathon is no small feat, and we are so excited to follow their journeys as they prepare for race day! 🏅 Every mile they run and every pound they raise will help us continue spreading awareness, understanding and support for the fibromyalgia community.

Please join us in giving Navid, Kirsty, Harry, Alexandra, and Shane a HUGE Team Fibro welcome! 👏💜

Show them some love in the comments, follow their journey, and keep an eye out for updates as we count down to the big day!

Together, we can go the distance for fibromyalgia. 💜
