What does your osteopathic care journey involve? ❤️

Osteopaths use their clinical knowledge and skilled hands to assess, diagnose and treat a range of musculoskeletal problems, from joint pain and muscle tension to sports-related injuries and difficulties with movement.

Your care begins with listening to your concerns and assessing how your body moves and functions. Where appropriate, treatment may include hands-on techniques alongside practical movement, exercise and lifestyle advice.

Every person is different, which is why your treatment plan is personalised around your individual needs and what you would like to get back to doing.

The aim is not simply to focus on one area of discomfort, but to support your movement, health and longer-term well-being.

❤️ Not sure if osteopathy is right for you? We're happy to help. Contact the clinic to discuss your concerns, visit our website to book an appointment online, or give us a call.

Do you wake up feeling stiff and struggle to get moving in the morning?🫠

After several hours of rest, it's not unusual for joints and muscles to feel less mobile when you first get up. For many people, this stiffness eases once they start moving around. But it can have a number of different causes, so it's worth paying attention to how your body feels and how long it lasts. Activity levels, previous injuries, and changes within the joints can all play a part.

❤️ Gentle movement can often help you feel more mobile after rest, and regular activity and exercise are important for keeping your joints functioning well.
That said, ongoing pain or stiffness shouldn't simply be put down to getting older. If morning stiffness is persistent, worsening, or affecting your daily life, it may be worth finding out what may be contributing to it.
❤️Osteopaths are trained to assess how your joints, muscles, and surrounding tissues are moving and functioning, and can offer treatment, advice, and exercises tailored to you.

👉If you're experiencing ongoing stiffness or discomfort. We're here to help.
💻You can book an appointment with us online by visiting our website or give us a call to speak with one of our friendly receptionists. We'd love to hear from you.

Today, 12 October, is World Arthritis Day❤️

Did you know that osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis, and the knee is one of the joints most frequently affected?
Although it can develop at any age, it becomes more common after the age of 45.
Common symptoms may include:
👉 Knee pain or stiffness
👉 Tenderness or swelling around the knee
👉 Stiffness after sitting or resting
👉 A reduced range of movement
👉 A grating or crackling sensation when moving

-Symptoms can vary greatly from person to person, so experiencing one of these signs does not necessarily mean that you have osteoarthritis.

This World Arthritis Day, we’re reminding you that regular movement and exercises to strengthen the muscles around the joint can play an important part in managing symptoms. 💗

If you’re considering your first osteopathy appointment, you may wonder how treatment will feel.

❤️Osteopathic treatment shouldn’t cause pain. If anything hurts, tell your osteopath so they can adapt what they’re doing.

Autumn walks can be beautiful , but wet leaves, mud, and uneven terrain can make even familiar paths surprisingly slippery. A few simple precautions can go a long way:
🍂 Wear supportive footwear with a firm grip
🍂 Slow down on wet or uneven surfaces
🍂 Keep your hands free where possible
🍂 Take extra care where fallen leaves may be concealing kerbs, holes, or tree roots

If a slip or an awkward step has left you in pain or discomfort, our osteopaths are here to help. Book Appointments can be online through our website, or by calling our friendly receptionist team.❤️
