The CSP is inviting expressions of interest from its members and other sector representatives, to join the panel for a new pilot awards programme launching in 2027 to support members' career development.
The programme is being developed following the closure of the CSP Charitable Trust (CSPCT), which until 2025 supported members' professional development. After the CSPCT's closure was announced, the CSP was invited to bid for funding to explore how it could continue to support members' education and professional development.
The new awards are planned to support physiotherapists, students, unemployed graduates and support workers at different stages of their careers. They will focus on education and continuing professional development opportunities, including developing new skills, exploring research, and progressing innovative ideas that could positively impact physiotherapy practice and patient care.
Panel member commitment
As this is a pilot programme, panel members will need to be available to:
Attend a panel induction in early 2027 before applications open in February 2027
Review and score applications during April 2027
Participate in up to two panel meetings to make funding decisions before the end of May 2027
Criteria for joining the panel
We are particularly interested in hearing from those who:
Are a CSP member
Have experience of applying for grant funding, or have participated in a grant awards funding panel
Have experience of supporting activities that encourage widening participation (this does not need to be within a grants or awards setting)
If you would like to be considered for the panel, please send an expression of interest to: [email protected] outlining how your experience meets the criteria above. Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
