✨️Something magical is coming to North Yorkshire✨️

Have you ever wondered what happens when you lie down, close your eyes, and allow yourself to be immersed in sound?

Hearing - and feeling - the deep resonating tones of Himalayan singing bowls... the otherworldly voices of gongs... the gentle rhythm of drums... the delicate shimmer of chimes... and melodies that seem to reach somewhere beyond words.

Sound has a remarkable relationship with the human body and mind. Vibrations can be felt as well as heard, while rhythm, tone and carefully layered sound can help create the conditions for deep relaxation, stillness and a quieter mind.

And then there's the bit that's a wee bit harder to put into words. ❤️ That feeling when the outside world fades away, your thoughts begin to settle and you find yourself somewhere between dreaming and waking.

Lu and I are delighted to be bringing our unique sound baths to new communities across North Yorkshire! 🌿

Rather than adding yet another event to the already busy cities, we wanted to bring these experiences to smaller towns and villages - places with a thriving community spirit, where people can come together, take some time for themselves and experience something a little different on their own doorstep.

And so, we're heading to...

🌍 STRENSALL & TOWTHORPE VILLAGE HALL
🗓Monday 9th November | 7pm

🌍 TOPCLIFFE & ASENBY VILLAGE HALL
🗓 Tuesday 10th November | 7pm

✨ ️£25 per person ✨️

Our sound baths are carefully crafted journeys using an evolving collection of singing bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, flute, handpan, voice and more. We begin with a short, relaxing guided meditation before allowing the instruments to take you wherever the sounds lead.

You don't need any experience. You don't need to know anything about meditation. You don't even need to be good at relaxing!

Just come as you are, get comfortable, close your eyes and let the sound do the rest.

With over 25 years of experience working with meditation, voice and sound, we pour our hearts into creating something that goes beyond simply playing instruments in a room. It's about the atmosphere, the interplay between the sounds, the space we create together, and the experience of being part of it.

And who knows? You might discover a whole new appreciation for the power of sound healing along the way. 🎶

If you live in or around either of these villages, we'd love to welcome you. Please keep an eye out for individual event posts, but if you have any questions or would like to book a place, just get in touch.

Feel free to share this post with friends, family and local groups. Help us spread a little sound, stillness and magic throughout Yorkshire. ❤️

We look forward to welcoming you!

Chris & Lu 🙏🎶🪘

✨️ Tuesday night's sound bath in Pleasley was something special...✨️

In fact, it may be one of my favourite sound baths ever.

Everything just seemed to come together effortlessly. The instruments were singing at the slightest touch, and the whole room seemed completely mesmerised by the experience.

We're constantly looking to evolve what we do and add meaningful new instruments to our kit. Over the last month we've found six new singing bowls, and after spending time at home getting to know each one - and discovering which bowls harmonise beautifully with our existing collection - they've now become a fundamental part of our sound bath experience.

Some of the deep tones they produce resonate and sustain for what seems like forever. They're incredible! Two of those six are also the biggest bowls we now own.

So yes... that trip to Birmingham was definitely worthwhile! 😁

The new singing bowl section of the sound bath at Pleasley was amazing. Actually, the whole thing was.

From the very beginning, the guided meditation felt pretty much flawless. Every instrument sounded magical. They Native American flute was a particular highlight for me. I think that was the best I've ever played it during a sound bath.

And then there were the gongs. 😍

Absolutely sublime.

Some of the tones Lu was able to tease out with the flumies were genuinely otherworldly. The interplay between the larger gongs felt almost like a conversation between two thunder gods - low, rumbling voices answering each other across the room.

All the while, our smaller handheld gong moved and sang around the room, giving each person their own moments of sound.

The handpan was up there too. Some completely new sequences emerged during the gentle free play that I use within our sessions - those moments when you stop consciously thinking about what you're playing and simply allow the instruments to lead.

Then came the drumming and singing.

Another conversation - this time between Lu and I.

We drummed and chanted back and forth, allowing the feminine and masculine energies to hold the space together in balance.

But of course, the sound bath isn't just about us and our instruments.

The people who come along are a huge part of what makes each session unique.

We had some lovely people join us in Pleasley, including someone who was born blind. It was such a privilege to give that person their first ever sound bath experience, and even more wonderful to hear their feedback afterwards. ❤️🎶

Every person experiences a sound bath differently, and we never know what the evening is going to become until we're all in the room together.

We often hear from people about the knock on positive effects of our sound baths. One regular said that they had finally found something which creates a "safe space" where they're able to face and conquer their issues. We are truly honoured to hold safe space for everyone who comes along.

So, Tuesday night was pretty magical.

And there's more exiting news...

🌿We're very excited to be bringing our sound baths to THREE new locations over the coming weeks🌿

We'll be sharing more details in the days ahead.

Thank you to everyone who continues to come along, support what we do, and become part of these experiences with us.

We genuinely love creating them. ❤️

What was your favourite moment at one of our sound baths? We'd love to read them.in the comments below.

Peace

Covering Pontefract, Featherstone, Knottingley, Castleford and Normanton.

What if you could simply lie down… close your eyes… and let the sound do the rest?

Join Chris & Louise for an immersive 90-minute Sound Bath experience at Featherstone Community Centre.

With 25+ years of experience working with sound, meditation and healing, we create a carefully crafted journey using Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, voice and other instruments.

You don't need to know how to meditate.
You don't need to “do” anything.

Just get comfortable, close your eyes and allow yourself to be carried by the sound. 🎶

The experience includes around an hour of immersive sound, followed by a gentle talking circle — a chance to come back into the room, share your experience if you wish, and connect with others.

And don't just take our word for it…

«“I didn't realise I carried stress in my body until this experience. I'm more relaxed than I've ever been before.”»

«“I felt held, secure and unbelievably relaxed. I'll definitely be back!”»

«“I've been to a few different sound baths. This is the best one I've ever had!”»

«“I slept for 10 hours the night after and have felt such calm in the days since.”»

I've been feeling a bit out of sorts these last couple of weeks, particularly with my hormones doing some crazy weird s**t with my body whilst I simoultaneously prepare myself for an empty nest! 😶

So Chris Nicolson kindly offered me a 1-1 sound bath to help relieve some aches and pains, rebalance my nervous system and quieten down my overactive thoughts.

OMG.

Honestly, there was SO much going on throughout the whole experience that all I could think about was, "Try to remember all of this so I can tell Chris about it afterwards!" 😁

I wouldn't recommend that as a process, btw.

Much better to let things arise and pass through without trying to grab hold of them for any reason (no matter how much you want to tell someone about them afterwards)!

I'm an oversharer. Always have been. 😂 But as I've got older, I've realised that I can be discerning with that information instead.

(Operative word here being can, not am. 😏)

Anyway, I digress...

The interesting thing about the work we do with sound is that often it's not simply about lying down, relaxing and listening to beautiful sounds.

There can and often are layers to the individual experience.

Sound, rhythm, vibration, breath, intention, imagery and the body can all become part of it. Sometimes things arise that you weren't expecting. Sometimes you see, feel or experience something that doesn't seem to have an obvious explanation because your perception can shift. And sometimes... you just lie there and enjoy the lovely sounds. 😂

This particular session definitely went into the, "there's a LOT going on here" category.

And because I've been learning and experiencing more of the shamanic side of this work myself, I'm becoming much more aware of the difference between trying to make something happen and simply creating the space for something to happen (as a participant) because that's where the magic lies.

That, for me, is a really important part of this work.

You don't have to understand everything or hold onto everything. And the things we let go of have a tendency to come back to us anyway, but in a calm, objective and much more healing energetic vibration

It's great to have an 'experience' to relate back to others, a way to validate the experience, and the best way to do that is to let go of expectations and trust the process, whatever that is for you.

Sometimes you just experience it, let it move through you, and see what remains.

What remained for me this time was a much quieter head, a more settled nervous system and a considerably less tense body. ❤️

If your nervous system is begging for a reset or some TLC, why not consider professional sound therapy?

Get in touch if you would like to book onto any of our sound baths, sound therapy courses or meditation classes.

One of the biggest myths about relaxation is that you're supposed to be good at it.

You're not.

Especially if you have ADHD.

Many people tell us they worry they'll fidget...
That they'll keep opening their eyes...
That their thoughts won't stop...
That everyone else will be perfectly peaceful while they're struggling.

Please let that worry go.

There is no right or wrong way to experience a Sound Bath.

Some people move.
Some people sleep.
Some people simply enjoy listening.
Some people notice their mind becoming quieter.
Others don't.

Every experience is valid.

The beautiful thing is that nothing is expected of you.

You don't have to force yourself into stillness.

You simply make yourself comfortable, listen, and allow whatever happens to happen.

Many guests who've arrived convinced they "can't switch off" have left saying...

"I never knew I could feel that relaxed."

Maybe relaxation doesn't have to be something you achieve.

Maybe it's something you allow.

We are running the following sound baths in September. Please get in touch if you'd like to join us at any of our sessions.

What a night!👌

Last night's sound bath in Featherstone was epic.

Chris Nicolson, Robert Leons and I shared some truely transformational moments with you. There were moments of deep healing, release, relaxation and all things in between. It really is an honour to hold space for all our amazing regulars and beautiful new souls that wander our way.

We would like to thank you for trusting us with your energy, your time and your intention. 🙏 Some journeys often feel like climbing a mountain, but with others beside you, we can share the load. 💞

We are super excited to be doing it all again tomorrow night at The Landmark Centre, Pleasley. Don't forget to bring your home comforts but most importantly your intention so we can co-create a magical experience for you 😊💕

Much love
Louise Maskill & Chris
