πŸ’ŠπŸ’™ Introducing Louise – our amazing Pharmacy Technician at Stuart Road Surgery! πŸ’™πŸ’Š

Today, on International Pharmacy Technician Day, we want to shine a spotlight on our wonderful Louise and celebrate the incredible work she does for our team and our patients. πŸ₯°

Louise really is one of a kind, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our surgery family. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her; she is always willing to go above and beyond, support others, and make sure everyone is looked after. Her dedication, kindness and caring nature make such a difference every single day.

Not only is Louise absolutely superb at her job, but she is also an amazing colleague and a wonderful friend. She is a valued member of our team, and we honestly couldn’t ask for a better person to have by our side!

✨ Thank you, Louise, for everything you do. Your hard work, compassion and willingness to always go the extra mile never go unnoticed. We appreciate you more than you know, and Stuart Road Surgery wouldn’t be the same without you!

Please join us in celebrating Louise as well as our wonderful PCN pharmacists who we have as part of our team❀️

πŸ₯ If you are attending our Emergency Department (ED) and are deaf, hard of hearing, neurodivergent, or find it difficult to hear your name being called, you can now request a pager from the reception team in Pinderfields Emergency Department.

The pager will discreetly alert you when it is time for triage or treatment, helping to ensure you don't miss being called while you wait.

You can ask for a pager when you arrive at the Emergency Department reception and return it before you leave. If you are admitted, please hand your pager to the member of staff caring for you.

This pilot forms part of our commitment to making our services more accessible and inclusive for everyone, with Pinderfields being chosen as the first site for this pilot due to the high number of patients who use the department and following feedback from our local communities.

If the pilot is successful, we hope to introduce the pager service at Dewsbury and District Hospital Emergency Department and Pontefract Urgent Treatment Centre in the future. πŸ©΅πŸ’š

Thank you to MY Hospitals Charity for making this possible.

πŸ’— October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month πŸ’—

This October, we’re raising awareness of breast cancer and encouraging all our patients to take a few minutes to look after their breast health.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK, but finding it early can make a real difference. Please get to know what is normal for you and be aware of any new or unusual changes in your breasts, chest or armpits. If you notice a change that concerns you, please contact the surgery.

πŸŽ€ If you are invited for NHS breast screening, please consider attending your appointment.

Please take a look at our poster below for some helpful information and statistics, and share it with your friends and family to help spread awareness. πŸ’—

πŸŽƒπŸ‘» Stuart Road Surgery – Halloween Nasal Flu Clinic! πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ

We’re holding a special Halloween-themed nasal flu clinic at Stuart Road Surgery on:

πŸ“… Saturday 31st October
⏰ 9am–1pm

We’re inviting eligible children to come along, get protected against flu and enjoy some spooky Halloween fun! πŸ¦‡πŸŽƒ

Who is eligible for the nasal flu vaccine?

The clinic is for:

πŸ‘§ Children aged 2 or 3 years old
🩺 Children aged 6 months up to 18 years who are in a clinical risk group

🏫 If your child is in full-time mainstream education, their nasal flu vaccination will usually be provided by their school nursing team rather than at the surgery.

πŸŽƒ Fancy dress is very welcome! Come dressed as your favourite witch, wizard, ghost, superhero or anything spooky!

🍬 And because it’s Halloween, we’ll have spooky sweeties for our little patients to enjoy!

🦠 Why have the nasal flu vaccine?

The nasal flu vaccine is a quick and painless spray that helps protect children against flu and reduces the risk of them catching and spreading it to others.

Less flu, more smiles! 😊

If your child is eligible, please contact Stuart Road Surgery to arrange their appointment.

πŸ‘» Protect your little monsters this Halloween! πŸŽƒ
