The realities of being a yoga teacher trainer…
It’s a lot more than standing at the front of a room and sharing what you know.
There are hours of planning, lesson writing, filming, researching, questioning your own understanding and occasionally realising that you have a whole new rabbit hole to disappear down.
But honestly, there is no job I’d rather do.
One of my favourite things about educating yoga teachers is that it gives you permission to really nerd out on the things you love. You get to revisit the philosophy, anatomy and practice from new angles, discover gaps in your own knowledge and keep learning alongside the people you teach.
And then there’s the people themselves. Watching someone develop their confidence, find their voice and discover their own unique approach to teaching is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
Because the aim isn’t to create a room full of teachers who all teach like me. It’s to help people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to become the teachers they are uniquely placed to be.
It’s challenging, it’s a constant learning curve, and it asks a lot of you. But being able to share something I care so deeply about, while helping others find their own way with it, makes every bit of it worthwhile.
If you’re thinking about taking your yoga practice further and training to teach, DM me “STUDY” to be added to the presale list. You’ll be the first to hear about the next Hapus Academy training and have the opportunity to book as soon as the dates are released later this year.
