There is a place where nothing rushes.
You don’t arrive there all at once.
You notice it first in your breathing.
In…
and out…
a little slower than before.
The air is soft here. Warm, but not heavy. It carries the faint scent of something familiar—like rain on stone, or distant flowers you don’t need to name.
You’re walking, though you don’t remember deciding to.
The ground beneath your feet feels steady. Kind.
Each step lands without effort.
Ahead, there’s a quiet stretch of water. Not a lake, not quite a river—something in between. It moves just enough to catch the light, small ripples folding into one another like whispered thoughts that never needed to become words.
You don’t have to do anything here.
That might be the strangest part.
No one is waiting for you to answer.
Nothing is asking to be solved.
Even time feels… uninterested.
You sit, or maybe you simply are seated—as if the place made room for you before you arrived.
The surface of the water reflects the sky, but softer. As if the world has been gently blurred at the edges. Thoughts come, but they drift differently here. Slower. Like leaves touching the water and choosing not to sink.
If something heavy follows you in, you notice it—but it doesn’t cling.
You can set it down.
Not forever. Just for now.
And the moment you do, the space inside your chest shifts—just a little. Enough to feel it.
There’s a breeze, barely there. It moves past you without taking anything, without demanding anything. Just passing through, like a reminder:
you don’t have to hold everything so tightly.
Time stretches.
Or maybe it loosens.
It becomes something you can lean into instead of chase.
You might notice your shoulders lowering.
Your jaw unclenching.
Your breath deepening without being told.
Nothing here needs improvement.
Not the water.
Not the sky.
Not you.
You stay as long as you like.
And when you leave—because eventually you will, gently, naturally—it won’t feel like losing something.
It will feel like carrying a quiet piece of this place back with you.
A softness behind your ribs.
A steadiness in your steps.
A knowing, almost unspoken:
You can return here, whenever you remember how to slow down.
