🌿Hahnemann experimented with giving two well-chosen remedies together, and that fact is sometimes used to justify multiple and complex remedy prescribing today. There is, however, a rather important part of the story that gets overlooked:

By the 6th edition of the Organon, §273 leaves us in little doubt as to his final position, one single, simple medicinal substance at one time.

An experiment tells us what someone was prepared to investigate 🔎 and the conclusion tells us what they learned from it 🎓

For me, after more than 30 years in practice, the principle remains simple:
➡One patient.
➡One totality.
➡One well-chosen remedy.

❓What has Homoeopathy taught Bray Williamson that no textbook could? Dr Noori Ali of BJain Books asks this question during the live podcast interview.
🌱Classical Homoeopath Bray tells the audience about how he has learned humility, to know that when a patient sits opposite him he is not the cleverest person in the room... they are!

🌿There is an aspect of homoeopathy that many people outside the profession know very little about: the homoeopathic proving (homoeopathic clinical testing).
🌿Traditionally, the effects of substances used as homoeopathic remedies are observed in human participants and recorded to help build their remedy pictures.
🐾If you are concerned about animal welfare, prefer ethical approaches to medicine, or if you are simply simply curious about how homoeopathy developed, this is an interesting part of our history that is well worth discovering.

A Simplified Guide to Homoeopathy – Author Interview
We recently had the pleasure of joining Dr Noori Ali of B. Jain Publishers to talk about the second edition of A Simplified Guide to Homoeopathy.
What began as a discussion about the book became a much wider conversation about homoeopathy itself - what more than 30 years in practice has taught Bray, why we believe homoeopathy can be made understandable without being “dumbed down,” and why the individual patient must always remain at the centre of our work.
We discuss the philosophy behind the book, the importance of the single remedy, materia medica, miasms, the changing nature of chronic disease and, perhaps most importantly, the need to educate a new generation of homoeopaths to understand remedies rather than simply memorise symptoms.
Sarah also tells the story of her own journey from scepticism to homoeopathy and how her questions ultimately became an essential part of the book itself. Her ability to challenge my explanations with “No, I still don't understand that!” was one of the reasons we were able to create something we hope is genuinely accessible. 😁
One thought from the interview perhaps sums up Bray's approach after all these years: "When a patient sits opposite me, I'm not the cleverest person in the room. They are."
🌿Our task as homoeopaths is to listen, observe, understand — and never lose the humility to recognise when we need to look again.
