10 years ago today, I graduated as a midwife. 🤎
If you’d told me then where I’d end up, I wouldn’t have believed you.
My first job was at a trust with double the birth rate of where I trained. No gentle start, just straight into the deep end during my preceptorship. Looking back, I think that’s exactly what I needed. Since then, life’s taken me in directions I never expected.
I now teach, helping shape the next generation of midwives coming through. And a few years ago, I started building something of my own, a business supporting families through pregnancy and beyond, born out of everything I’ve learnt in the last 10 years.
Different rooms, different roles, but it’s all rooted in the same thing, trying to make a real difference for women and families.
Ten years in, I still think being a midwife is less a career and more a calling 🤎
