Why do we people-please?
Do you find yourself saying yes when you really want to say no?
Apologising when you’ve done nothing wrong?
Worrying about disappointing people?
Putting everyone else’s needs before your own?

You might recognise yourself as a people-pleaser.

People-pleasing can sometimes develop as a way of maintaining safety, connection or acceptance.

Perhaps you’ve learned that keeping others happy feels safer than expressing what you really think or need.

So you become very good at reading the room.
Very good at adapting.
Very good at putting yourself second.

But constantly abandoning your own needs can eventually leave you feeling exhausted, resentful or disconnected from who you really are.

Counselling can help you explore where these patterns came from - and whether they’re still serving you.

Because caring about other people doesn’t have to mean losing yourself in the process.

🌿Wishing you moments of calm, connection and wellbeing 💚

In the quiet of Sunday, listen to what your mind and body are whispering to you.

What do you need right now? 🌺

Myth: “I have to talk about everything straight away”

Fact: Counselling should happen at a pace that feels manageable for you.

You can take your time.
You can say that you’re not ready to talk about something.
You can start with something that feels easier.

Building trust is part of the process and you are not expected to get to the most difficult thing first 🤍.

🌿Wishing you moments of calm, connection and wellbeing 💚

Today is ‘International Day for Failure’.

What if failure isn’t the opposite of success….but part of being human?

For those of us who struggle with perfectionism, making a mistake can feel much bigger than it really is. We might replay what happened, criticise ourselves, compare ourselves with others, or feel that we should have done better.

But perfectionism isn’t the goal of a meaningful life.

Sometimes we need to gently remind ourselves:

🌿I am allowed to get things wrong.
🌿One mistake does not define me.
🌿I can learn without punishing myself.
🌿I can let go of what I cannot change.
🌿I can take what I’ve learned and keep moving forward.

Nature reminds us that nothing stays exactly the same. Leaves fall. Seasons change. Paths bend. Things grow, fade, begin again and take new directions.

We can do that too.

Letting go doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t matter. It means choosing not to carry it forever.

So, if something didn’t go the way you hoped, perhaps today you could ask yourself:

“What can I learn from this - and what am I ready to let go of?” 🪴

Be gentle with yourself.
You are work in progress, not a finished product.

💚Counselling Insight
A dpace to explore, understand and move forward - without needing to be perfect.
